When I heard someone say Epstein trafficked more than a thousand women and girls, it stopped me cold. Then I remembered this and it clicked: it all ties back to white supremacy.

Epstein was obsessed with genetic engineering, eugenics, and “improving” humanity, including his own DNA. It’s documented.

And the pattern is familiar: the same old racist fantasies about the superior race.

Something folks are missing here: this raid wasn’t about “illegals taking American jobs.” It was about ICE storming the Hyundai–LG battery plant in Georgia, part of a $7.6B Metaplant project that isn’t even operational yet.

They dragged out more than 300 South Korean engineers and specialists. People flown in to help stand the place up so it could eventually employ thousands of Georgians/Americans.

This plant wasn’t scheduled to start running until late 2025 or early 2026. These workers weren’t taking jobs; they were building the factory that would create them. Reports suggest this wasn’t about “undocumented” workers. At worst, it was visa infractions—the wrong paperwork, the wrong classification. Instead of sorting it out, we humiliated our allies and hauled their workers off in shackles.

South Korea is one of America’s most important partners. And in an election stunt, we just told them their people are expendable. Farmers already learned this lesson in Alabama when crops rotted in the fields. Now Georgia might learn it the hard way with batteries.

The questions we should be asking: will this plant ever get up and running on time—or did politics just kneecap one of the biggest clean energy projects in the country? And is the damage done to our relationship with South Korea long-term?

The Father I Didn’t Know – And What It Taught Me

On This Father’s Day, I want to share something I learned the hard way. It’s a bit rough in the beginning, but it’s leading to something that will hit. Especially if you’re a dad.

About two and a half years ago, my father passed away. Massive heart attack. It was a Sunday, the anniversary of Bloody Sunday. My sister called to tell me the news. It was also her birthday.

As a family, we decided to cremate him and hold a celebration of life later that summer. A home-going. And when July came, we gave him the best home-going you could imagine. In a venue right on the water.

🧵 My father was retired, but he had been a documentary filmmaker, a media director at a college, a jazz musician, and an art lover with a large collection of Black art. He was also a pack rat, which, in this case, was a blessing. He’d kept nearly everything. We set up a series of exhibits in the space: his art, his films, college mementos like his track spikes. We also reunited his bandmates who agreed to play that day. We played a film of his life’s work. Guests could walk from station to station, remember him, and talk about him.

I made a point to speak with every single person there. What I didn’t expect were the stories. Stories of how he used to cook entire Thanksgiving meals—multiple turkeys, pies, sides—and give them to the homeless. Stories from younger Stanford alumni who said, “When you get to Palo Alto, find Salah. He will show you the ropes and connect you with who you should be connected with.” Remember there aren’t too many Black people at Stanford. One told me, “He helped me get into Stanford.”

That one hit me. Years earlier, my dad had worked every angle trying to get his grandson, my son, into Stanford. He’d reached out to trustees, pulled every string he could, but his grandson wasn’t accepted. Pop was so mad. He took it harder than my son. I told him not to be so upset, that I had read even board members can’t get their kids in. But hearing folks say he helped them get in made me realize why he took it so hard that he couldn’t get his own grandson in. Hearing those stories later, I understood just how far back his reputation went.

Let me tell you what NAFTA looked like from the inside—because I lived it. Americans didn’t just lose jobs to Mexico, jobs were lost to China too.

When it was ratified in 1994, I was the head designer at a company called Z Cavaricci.

We tried moving production from Los Angeles to Mexico, thinking we could take advantage of the trade deal. But it was a disaster. Every factory we tried fell short—bad quality, missed timelines. Also, our styling was too complicated for most factories used to doing basic 5-pocket jeans.

And if you know manufacturing, you know it’s all about consistency and relationships. You can’t just bounce around.

So I told the owner: we had to do production in China if we wanted to compete. We did.
🧵 We started producing pants, non-denim fabrics, eventually denim with all kinds of treatments and novelty work. It was cheaper. A lot cheaper. And the capabilities in China were things we simply couldn’t pull off in the U.S.

We weren’t alone. Everyone in fashion was making the same move—Mexico or China. Because in this industry, it’s not just about style. It’s about price. The buyer sees two pairs of jeans, and the cheaper one usually wins.

I saw people protesting at my local Tesla service center today. Right on ✊🏾

I’m convinced that unelected co-president Elon Musk is turning the U.S. government into a version of how he runs Tesla—and that should terrify everyone. Hear me out.

When I first got my Tesla, I loved it. They delivered it straight to my home during peak COVID lockdown. Anytime I had a question, I could easily reach a sales rep or advisor. Sometimes, we’d even stop by the Tesla store just to check out the cars—always a friendly experience, no issues at all.
🧵 Fast forward three years. A customer loyalty advisor reached out with an incredible deal on a new Tesla. I figured, why not? I placed an order but made it clear I didn’t want to take delivery until my lease was up in a few months. No problem.

Then, about a month before my lease ended, I started getting notifications pressuring me to accept delivery of the new car. I declined every time. But suddenly, my Tesla app locked me into a delivery screen, refusing to let me use basic functions—like opening my own damn trunk.

Pissed off, I tried reaching my advisor through phone and email. Nothing.

We’re Missing Something. Hear Me Out…

Do you remember how Dems used to refer to large sections of the United States as ‘flyover country’? Somewhere along the way, we realized that by using that phrase, we were canceling voters—making them feel unimportant and unheard. So, we stopped using it.

We stopped using that phrase, but we have the same problem. We aren’t listening to folks outside of metropolitan cities. And on top of that, we aren’t even speaking to them. We’ve become so politically correct with our language that we’re not relatable to many people who should be Democratic voters.
🧵 For example, the party doesn’t address the closure of factories that policies—like NAFTA—caused. We can’t undo the past, but we need to acknowledge & listen to folks who suffered because of it. They blame Dems & voted for Trump because he makes them feel heard. He lies to them, saying he’ll fix it.

Take a look at towns and cities that used to be big manufacturing hubs. Now they’re poverty-stricken, deep in the opioid and meth crisis, and don’t even have Democratic candidates addressing these issues. Or if they do, they get no support from the party.

Stein does not have the ability to lift up candidates.

📌 Political Fraud: She has no real chance at winning. Stein is barely polling at 1%, but her candidacy can still influence who wins. GOP attorneys are helping her with ballot access, and Putin boosts her by spreading disinformation about elections and Democratic candidates.

📌 Financial Hypocrisy: She rails against Big Pharma and Big Oil, but has large investments in mutual funds with holdings in fossil fuels, big banks, Big Pharma, tobacco, and defense contractors.

This @MSNBC segment is about mixed-race voters' take on this election. It includes people of diverse political persuasions as well.

One of the participants makes a quick comment that you might miss but shouldn’t ignore: “I never heard her identify herself as a Black woman.” He implies that Kamala Harris is being dishonest about her race because he “never heard” her say she was Black until she ran for president. That’s how effective Trump’s lie has been.

I’ll circle back on that brother in a minute, but first… There’s an important aspect of being multiracial that I’m not seeing discussed—the cultural piece. It’s not just your DNA that affects your identity; it’s how you are raised and who raised you.

The most important person in my life is biracial. Her father passed when she was very young, so she was raised by her mom, a Black woman, along with some fabulous Black aunties who were central to her upbringing. She’s always identified as Black—not because she is in denial of her other half, but because these are her people.

We don’t know these things about people based on how they look, and they don’t owe you or anyone else an explanation.

So if they tell you who they are, or if for some reason you feel the need to know and decide to ask them, don’t be an ass about it.

Former Senator Jones is a son of the south. Black folks in the south trust him. Doug was one of the first Senators, and the only one from the south to say ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the Senate floor. No fear of speaking up for what’s right!

He organized the annual reading of MLK on the Senate floor that still continues to this today.

‘We cannot let this moment pass’: Doug Jones also invoked a push for racial justice in first 2020 campaign ad.

And let’s be upfront about the uncomfortable part — white voters in the Midwest would feel more reassured by him.

Wow‼️ Instead of attending hearings where his own constituents are testifying about their miscarriage horror stories attributed to Texas’ extreme abortion ban — @tedcruz has been busy selling himself to the highest bidders.

A reporter found documents left at a food kiosk on the first floor of the US Capitol. They detail information about a series of meetings between Cruz and big donors.

According to @PabloReports, the reporter who found them Tuesday afternoon, Twitter/X took down his posts with the documents because they included the donor’s personal contact info. Private info has now been redacted from the docs included here and in the🧵

I attended the Biden event in Los Angeles last night. Fantastic, but it made me think about a few things.

I’ve been around a minute. Lived through several Presidential races. I remember not being excited about the candidates, but I have never in my life fixed my lips to say, I’m not voting because of it. Neither did my grandparents who survived Jim Crow and were not always welcomed at the polls.

I don’t understand folks who are saying that today.

Your top issue isn’t being talked about enough or going the way you think it should? Let’s survive now and live to fight another day. But first, look beyond what you’re seeing covered by the media, because Biden is not getting the same coverage that Trump is getting. And much of that coverage is skewed. It’s likely your issue is being worked on and you have been heard — so look deeper!

We don’t have to invite the candidates over for tea and crumpets, but staying home when we have the Supreme Court that we have, is short-sided and a disservice to those of us who see Trump as the number one danger that he is promising to be.

(1 of 4) The Biden fundraiser event in Los Angeles last night was so well done! The highlight was the conversation with Biden, Obama and Kimmel.

One thing struck me above all — Biden and Obama spent a fair amount of time addressing the Supreme Court crisis.

Biden basically said, the only way out of this is to re-elect him. Agreed! We keep hearing this, but Biden said there will likely be two new appointments for the next President. No quick fix.

I think that’s up for interpretation. Definitely conjecture.

My take — Justices Thomas and Alito will only resign under Trump, but they are up there in years so anything can happen.

What’s certain — we need to think in terms of prevention. NO MORE TRUMP JUDGES. We are fucked as it is. Also, picking up a seat on our side or theirs is not all this is about. It’s generational. Can we survive two 40 year-old, upside-down, flag flying, Alitos?

Whichever president has the opportunity to nominate, they will nominate YOUNG.

Clearly there’s work to do, but I don’t believe for one second that Black voters are going to vote for Trump in significantly larger numbers than we did in 2020, which was minimal.

However, there is a valid concern about Black voters sitting this one out that should be raising alarm bells. There’s a lot of important points made in this segment, and I’d like to add a few….

Sitting this one out hurts us and helps no one. If you don’t think the Biden-Harris administration is tuned into the issues the community cares about, or they’re not helping with the issues that affect us, get curious and look into what they’ve been doing on your own because the media is not going to tell us about it.

Look for resources that have been put in place that will benefit you, your families and let folks know. They’re out there, but aren’t waiting at our doorstep.

Also the media is the same as just about everything else in life. The negative is an essay, the positive is a sentence. The negative catches our attention more and Trump is a master at that. He’s playing us.

Many don’t think we should vote for a candidate because we’re against the other candidate. I get it, but opposition is one huge reason why our vote has been so powerful for generations. Remember, Republicans don’t want us to vote for a reason. Not only will Trump not help us, he will harm us with intention.
