10 years ago, leading up to a presidential election, @cydharrell and I, along with about 30 other volunteers, including @whitneyq, ran a study that catalyzed events that changed the course of careers and the way many people thought about voters’ mental models. We were all private sector UX designers and researchers. This was a side project.

- safety, defense, & protection of human rights
- opportunity & mgmt of economy
- equitable distribution of resources and services
- public goods, which are services that the private sector can’t
