On this day, 17 years ago, something unbelievable happened in the Nagpur District Court. Around 200 women killed a criminal named Akku Yadav in court premises using stones, kitchen knives and chilli powder, putting an end to the torture they underwent for years. A notorious gangster, Akku Yadav terrorized the Dalit residents of the Kasturba Nagar primarily by using rape as a tool to silence and oppress. He committed absolutely horrific acts intended to humiliate, subjugate and instill fear among the residents.
