Trump's job creation rate was lower than it had been before Trump took over, but it seems like few people know that. See thread 20 in my pinned tweet for data.

(THREAD) Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche wrote a check to the jury in his opening statements that he won’t be able to cover.

The transcript from day 1 with the jury in the box is out under Transcripts at:

ww2.nycourts.gov/press/index.sh… 1/ Here is what Blanche claimed (page 76 of 121):

“More significantly than that, ladies and
gentlemen, you're going to learn that this was not a payback. The $35,000 a month was not a payback to
Mr. Cohen for the money that he gave to Ms. Daniels.” Image

@danielsgoldman I hope people know that this isn’t the first time that Trump has tried to overturn a lawful election through revolution. He did it in 2012, but failed to get anybody killed that time. This time he did get people killed.

That time the “lie” was that Romney won the popular vote: @danielsgoldman 2/ Trump quotes from 2012:

🔹“We should have a revolution in this country!”
🔹“Let’s fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice!”
🔹“revolution!”
🔹“We should march on Washington and stop this travesty.”

Sick that Republican Senators will help Trump do more.

1/ I would love it if the Democratic prosecutors for Trump’s impeachment trial went full bore on offense right out of the gate with something like: 2/ “We will be presenting our case to you, the American people. Technically the jury is in this room, but when this is over you are likely to see that the majority of the Republican Senators here are spineless people who don’t care if Trump is guilty.”

1/ Story:

A group of rich businessmen are driving through the desert when they happen upon a man dying of thirst.

Some want to leave the man, some want to take him with them and nurse him back to health. but the majority agrees to give him 3 bottles of water. 2/ When the thirsty man hears he is getting 3 bottles of water, and sees them, he knows it isn’t enough, but he is so looking forward to that water, as he had thought he was going to die any minute.

It looks like @JonathanTurley is a liar. In an interview @PreetBharara said this:

“I think it is a reasonable conclusion that the decision to get rid of Jeff Berman was not done in good faith.”

This can be seen at about the 4:40 mark here:

cnn.com/videos/politic… 2/ @JonathanTurley then took that and decided to make a whole thread attacking @PreetBharara based on Turley cutting off the “reasonable conclusion” and replacing it with his own “now clear”:

I guess we will see if @JonathanTurley has any integrity.

(THREAD) I see that Trumpsters still don’t understand how the OLC memo saying presidents cannot be indicted was relevant to the Mueller Report, or they fake that they don’t understand. I think the report was clear about this for part 2. 1/ Paraphrasing, the explanation in the Mueller Report comes down to:

“If we determine there clearly was no crime we will say so. If there was a crime, we will not say that, because the OLC memo means that we will not determine there was a crime, regardless of evidence.”

@SunshineNikki4 @RickkidtchThoer 92/ Another example of the kind of people Trump has to get support from. @pax4pax responded (but not directly) to a tweet I made mentioning that there was a quid pro quo by Trump's team, by claiming that this was not reality. I responded here: 93/ That response from me included a pic of Trump ogling a minor child. @pax4pax claims to be a Christian, and they criticize people, yet @pax4pax decided that they wanted to defend Trump's pedophilic actions. That is above my response here:

(THREAD) Trump Privilege

I was thinking about why Trump's poll numbers have stayed above 35% pretty much no matter what, and one way to look at it is that there is a Trump Privilege. 1/ With Trump Privilege, Trump can be an embarrassment just giving candy to children on Halloween, while Obama can interact and connect with kids, but many will claim that Trump is the normal one who cares about people.

@CaroleKay11 40/ Another example of the kind of person Trump has to rely on to defend him. After I tweeted the pic here:
which shows that for a while now R Presidents have been pulling deficits higher and D Presidents have been pulling them lower. @ZeeSteve1 ... 41/ ... lied about what it shows. In 2008 our economy was cratering under the last R President (Bush) and he left a cratering economy for Obama. Jobs were being lost at a high rate per month as Obama took over. Turning that economy around was done partially with high deficits.

(THREAD) Note to Trump supporting Christians heading to church on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Today Turkish backed forces Jihadists raped and then stoned to death Kurdish Human Rights Activist and Secretary General of the Future Syria Party Hervin Khalaf. 1/ Turkey also killed many Kurdish children and adults.

As you sit in your nice warm churches, sing your hymns, and think about how much you love Donald Trump, remember that you weren't there for this rape, or the killings of these children, but you played your role.

(THREAD) Trump has created 5.3 million jobs in his 31 full months, while Obama created 6.9 million in his last 31 full months. That is a 29% faster pace under Obama. 1/ Trump's job creation rate has been quite a bit behind the pace Obama had left for him for a while, but it turned out that Trump's numbers had been overestimated by 501k jobs, so Trump is even further behind than the jobs numbers were showing.

35/ As I showed in 22/ above, sometimes Charlie outright
lies for Trump. Other times he deceives without technically lying. Here is a tweet from him from today, September 4, 2019. 36/ CK had been talking about 6M jobs under Trump, but job creation for the year up to 3/19 was revised:
bls.gov/web/empsit/ces…
"The preliminary estimate of the benchmark revision indicates a downward adjustment to March 2019 total tonfarm employment of -501,000 (-0.3 percent)."

@waltshaub @NatashaBertrand 1/ Could be. I don't view Barr's statement as circular. I view it as logical from what Mueller had written. Consider a judge just before a jury gets a verdict.
Attorney to Judge: "Are you saying that the defendant is guilty?"
Judge: "I have the power to exonerate the ... @waltshaub @NatashaBertrand 2/ ... defendant right now, but based on the evidence I cannot do that. I will also not say the defendant is guilty, because that is the jury's job."
Attorney: "Are you saying if it wasn't the jury's job then you would say the defendant is guilty?"
Judge: "No. I am saying ...

Mueller's report vs Barr's "summary" 2/ The 2nd picture above shows that Mueller's team decided not to make a traditional prosecutorial judgement, but I believe 1 of their statements about why is very important, and telling. I found the following on page 213 out of 448.

17/ Here Is a good thread about what our country has overcome and the power we have to overcome Trump:
18/ While we clearly aren't done with our job to replace Trump, there are some signs that it is Trump worshipers who should be worried about his ability to maintain his power. His mental decline looks real and we have the power to outlast him:

(THREAD) Trump's pedophile-like words and behavior.
With the Epstein case in the news (big thank you to those who have diligently worked to help the victims of Epstein and associates) I figured I would try to compile some things about Trump and girls (and young women). 1/ “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side...”

@SethAbramson There are many of us who appreciate that. Now for a poll of how Fox would react if a piece of evidence was against the other party. @SethAbramson (POLL) How many hours a day would Fox talk about the story if this happened with Obama:

- Obama gave speeches praising Assad.
- A rep. for Assad had told Obama's lawyer that the rep. would show the speeches to Assad and Assad would then approve the project to make Obama $300M.

(THREAD) This thread is about the allegations against Julie Swetnick. I say "against" her, because that is my main focus. The allegations that she lied in her own allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. 1/ I am more familiar with the details of the Christine Blasey Ford case, but I think I have something useful to add about the Julie Swetnick case too.

I will use these in this thread:

BK - Brett Kavanaugh
JS - Julie Swetnick
MJ - Mark Judge
