Quick thoughts on Anwar's cabinet.

THE BAD

DPM: UMNO President Zahid Hamidi, who still has trial involving 47 corruption charges. Most unprincipled move, but, probably the least surprising. Seemed inevitable from the get-go.

We should criticise this every step of the way. MoF: DSAI. I don’t doubt his capabilities. In fact, he probably could end up being the best MoF we’ve had in a long time. But the PM should not be the Minister of Finance, especially not in a country where the PM wields ridiculous amounts of power.

Quick thoughts on GE15.

1. Voter turnout was EXCELLENT. And this cannot and should not be understated.

73% of the entire adult population turned out to vote. This number is rarely seen even in the most mature democracies. Remember, in GE14, we’re talking about 82% of those who registered to vote in the post office in the first place. Take a bow, Malaysia. 15 million of us showed up.

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you raising minimum wage (or wages for working class, in general) is *the* cause of inflation.

Inflation unavoidable in capitalism.

Wages must keep up.

Malaysian not poor country. Wealth hoarded by top 1-10%.

Time for the rich to pay. Wages should be key election issue.

Any politician who says they can’t force the hands of the business elite to increase your wages, doesn’t deserve your vote.

One of the things I vehemently dislike about PH's "strategy"? Constantly dunking on PAS for not implementing right-wing policies like they said they would, in the name of pointing out their hypocrisy. What happens when PAS actually implements the stuff that you keep daring them to?

Do you and your supporters say congratulations on implementing a policy/law you've been clowning them for not implementing?

In a powerful act of resistance, Iranian women are risking their lives by burning their headscarves & protesting against their government. But what sparked these protests? Will this uprising bring about a new Iran? I spoke to @AssalRad of @NIACouncil

What is politics?

First, you have to ask yourself, what is a government?

There are two classes in society: The ultra-wealthy (factory owners, property developers, owners of chains of private hospitals, etc) & working class.

These classes have conflicting interests. A *simplified, basic* example:

A factory owner's ideal situation is for laborers to work the longest possible hours for the lowest possible salary.
A worker's ideal situation is to work the shortest possible hours for the highest possible salary.
