Highlights for May 12, 2022:

1. Kharkiv region. Russian occupiers shelled the town of Derhachi, killing two civilians and destroying several buildings, including humanitarian headquarters. The same day, Kharkiv Airport sustained damage due to a missile attack. 2. Chernihiv region. The occupiers attacked the town of Novhorod-Siversky from the air, killing three and injuring 19 civilians. Several civilian facilities, including a boarding school, hostel, administrative buildings and private houses, were destroyed.

Highlights for May 11, 2022:

1. Donetsk region. Near the town of Sloviansk, the occupiers damaged an ammonium nitrate storage facility. Currently, the situation is under control. Overall, 22 civilian facilities sustained damage in the region over the course of just one day. 2. Poltava region. Russian occupiers conducted a missile attack on a civilian facility. The number of victims has not been confirmed.

Daughter’s Fight to Save Mom

Yuliia Paievska, nicknamed Taira, is a Ukrainian activist and founder of volunteer combat medical unit ‘Taira’s Angels’ who was awarded the Hero of Ukraine medal for her immense contribution. Yuliia is a civilian, not a combatant, but she was taken prisoner by the russians on March 16 in Mariupol. Since then, russia has refused to acknowledge the fact of her abduction and to include her in a war prisoner exchange.

Highlights for May 10, 2022:

1. Luhansk region. In the village of Shypilove, bombarded by the russians three days ago, 11 people remain under the rubble. The police have not been able to conduct a search and rescue operation due to constant shelling. Also in the Luhansk region, the russian occupiers destroyed a major gas pipeline, leaving 15,000 residents of Sievierodonetsk without gas.

Highlights for April 17, 2022:

1. Kharkiv region. A Russian missile destroyed World Central Kitchen in Kharkiv: there are wounded. Also, several residential neighborhoods and civilian facilities were shelled in the city: at least 18 dead, over 30 wounded. 2. Luhansk region. Evacuation from Lysychansk was disrupted due to constant shelling. The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity in Sievierodonetsk and the towns of Kreminna and Novodruzhesk were shelled from heavy artillery weapons on Palm Sunday.

1. The occupiers shelled evacuation buses in the Kharkiv region: 7 people died, 27 were wounded. Also, in Kharkiv a residential neighborhood was attacked. Highlights for the 5th of April, 2022:

1. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russian military forces fired from the air at an oil depot, destroying it. Also hit the plant, which led to a large-scale fire. 2. According to special services, Russian occupants are preparing for a large-scale provocation in Mariupol, to blame Ukraine for the murder of civilians.

3. Three tortured civilians were already found in the Konotopsk district of the Sumy region.

Highlights for the 4th of April, 2022:

1. Seven people were killed and 20 wounded as a result of the Russian shelling of Ochakov in Mykolayiv region. The city of Mykolayiv was shelled with cassette shells. 10 people were killed, 46 were wounded. 2. In Luhansk Region two volunteers who had been distributing humanitarian aid to local residents were killed during a mortar attack in Novodruzhsk. The occupants also shelled a church - two priests were wounded.

The United Nations' cultural agency, UNESCO, says at least 53 culturally important sites have been damaged since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. The damaged sites include 29 churches, 16 historical buildings, four museums and four monuments. Image The list is by no means exhaustive, as UNESCO relies on belated satellite images and witness reports to verify the damage. According to the Minister of Culture of Ukraine, the statistics are much more devastating.

Highlights for the 2nd of April, 2022:

1. The naked bodies of five women were found on the side of the road 20 km outside of Kyiv. After raping and torturing the women, Russian war criminals killed them, doused with gasoline and attempted to burn the bodies. Image 2. Nearly 300 murdered civilians were discovered in a mass grave in Bucha near Kyiv. Their bodies cannot be extracted and passed to the relatives, as the city of Bucha is heavily mined.

1. In Kharkiv the Russians gun fired at people at a post office distributing humanitarian aid. At least six civilians were killed. Another 15 were wounded and hospitalized. 2. The Russian occupants carried out rocket and phosphorus bombardment of the Luhansk region — four people were killed. Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, Kreminna, Novodruzhsk and Voivodivka were hit.

Highlights of the 23rd March of 2022:

1. Twenty-four people have been found dead under the rubble of the building of the Kharkiv Regional Administration. This building was shelled to ashes by the Russians on March 1. 2. Kateryna Dyachenko, a Ukrainian 11-year old gymnast, tragically died after her home in Mariupol was bombed. The tragedy was reported by Kateryna's coach Anastasia Meshchanenkova on her Instagram.
