When I first saw @BorisJohnson over 20 years ago, I thought he was ‘a good chap’. I was taken in by his jolly, rugger-bugger persona, I thought his use of Latin was a charming ostentatiousness and his philandering made him one of the lads.
How wrong I was. There is nothing remotely charming about this man. Everything he says and does is calculated to advance his position, to reinforce his brand values and to bring him the ultimate prize... leadership of the country. He studies Churchill to learn about ‘statesmanship’ but...
