I'm excited to share new work from @jeffreypullin on the ubiquitous scRNA-seq data analysis task of *marker gene selection*
"A comparison of marker gene selection methods for single-cell RNA sequencing data" biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We learnt a lot! Read on for highlights...👇
BENCHMARKING (figuring out what is "best") is a popular & important stream of genomics research these days.
Here, we also highlight the importance of SCRUTINISING methods and software (checking that they work as intended).
We do both to help guide users finding marker genes

Delighted to share our latest work with Raghd Rostom, @YuanhuaHuang, @OliverStegle, Sarah Teichmann et al. Cardelino: Integrating whole exomes and single-cell transcriptomes to reveal phenotypic impact of somatic variants biorxiv.org/content/early/… 1/9
We leverage and statistically integrate deep exome sequencing data with single-cell RNA sequencing to look at the phenotypic impact of somatic mutations in human fibroblast cells by linking scRNA-seq profiles to inferred clonal cell populations 2/9
