Doctors, Parents, and Teachers all agree that screen time for children is an issue...

But why are screens so disruptive for children?

A short thread on why most tablets capture our children, and more importantly how they can be made to be less addictive ⬇️ Image Kids developing retinas are up 45% more sensitive to blue light.

Children also hold devices closer to their body, meaning they are being exposed to blue light at up to 4X the intensity!

This means the dopaminergic and stimulatory response are magnitudes higher.

5-10X total higher intensity vs adults does not even take into account their highly sensitive, developing brains.Image

we built the world's first blue light free computer

here's why this matters & why it's different from other blue light blocking solutions

thread time 🧵 🌞 Image blue light is not inherently bad, just bad in the wrong context

blue light provides wakefulness, stimulation, and sets our internal body clock (circadian rhythm)

when we go outside in the sun, we get bathed in blue light
