I'm quoted in this piece about the potential implications of less granular decennial census data. I want to expand on my quote to provide a bit more background related to this topic.
We @nhgis use the block level data to compute high-quality data that facilitates change over time analysis for census tracts (which are made up from census blocks). We use 2010 census block data to create estimates of 2010 data for 2020 census tracts.
