I just tested OpenAI's Deep Research. Gave it a legal question similar to those my clients often ask me and let it run with it.

First, to set the stage:
My question was about legal requirements in a particular state related to a private equity acquirer buying a specific type of regulated entity.
If a client were to ask me this question, my response would be in the form of a fairly lengthy e-mail, maybe with a dozen or so bullet points:
- Around half of the bullet points would generally describe the regulatory process for any acquirer (not just private equity).
- The other half of the bullet points would relate to special considerations for private equity acquirers (your structure is probably X, so you must be aware that you'll be asked to disclose Y and commit to Z).
