This has been an incredible year of reading for the Lad and me. I wanted to share a few tips on writing #mglit that I've picked up, or been reminded about, or have long had stamped in my head, or have written on wee pieces of paper scattered round my desk. I hope this is helpful. 1. First, the beginning. Make the beginning snatch the reader's attention. That first page, and the first chapter, need to clearly introduce a character (ideally your MC), pose a meaningful conflict, and ramp up the tension. Answer this: What's this about, and why should I care?
