ok so hear me out: post canon Wangxian who are happily married, everything is good, they’re living their best married life, and one day the juniors ask for their help on a nighhunt case and it actually goes well, they get rid of the spirit and they all go home in good spirits. That is until a week later, Lwj wakes up and forgets who Wwx is, it’s only for about 2 minutes, but Wwx wakes up to a sword at his throat, and an angry Lwj asking who he is.

burial grounds era, where Lwj is used to get to Wwx—his tea is poisoned, and it puts him into a deadly coma, and it’s all done in order to draw the Yiling Laozu out and kill him—but what they don’t realize, is that the sects who did this, were dead the moment they planned this. Wwx hears about it in a letter from his shijie of all people, she tells him Lwj is dying, that someone poisoned him, that it may be a plot (that part is from JC) and Wwx can’t—the moment he reads the words “hgj is dying” the world blurs and he can’t—he can’t breathe.
