This is actually a misunderstanding of multiple factors
In environments of greater material wealth and privilege, some aspects of patriarchy are amplified

This also lessens the need for explicitly heroic archetypes because men become more tools for status seeking than protectors But this part is definitely true, much of patriarchal standards men actually overtly dislike are not ones pressured on them by other men but ones they feel they're pressured into by women

This was effectively barging into a discussion of people who *want* to talk about men's issues *at all* and complaining it doesn't centre women Image This is the sort of fake "out" a lot of misandrists give because it sounds like they're letting you do your advocacy and they don't have to talk about men's issues.

But this doesn't work. You talk about men and their roles all the fucking time.
