@CMOH_Alberta I was a huge fan in the early pandemic. That changed months ago. And obviously this past week has me dumbfounded. I had a 10 part tweet ready, but realize I can summarize it in just one or two.

We physicians are decently smart, and while we may not know as much 1/ 2/ about public health and pandemics, we are smart enough to be shown this data you say you have. Why haven’t you bothered to show us this info? If it was legit, you would have no issue teaching your colleagues. 2/

Dude, so many people can’t afford the dentist or vision care. If healthcare went that way it would be bad. You should flip your argument to make dental and vision publicly funded. Just read the research on cost of a two tier HC. Biggest problem with you guys deciding this is 1/ 2/ that none of you know what you are talking about. This article is full of lies and half truths. Also it isn’t about money, it’s about respect and Albertans that will be harmed by this governments poor choices and selling your care to corporations. Doctors are willing to take a cut. We even agreed to the exact deal that the 1/ 2/ UCP asked for, and they rejected it. That shows you they never wanted to negotiate in good faith. That sounds like a “leftist” looney remark. But guess what? It is 100% true. As a physician, it appalls me how openly they 1/ 2/ dismiss any criticism. The have defunded PUBLIC education, PUBLIC healthcare, acted way too slowly to support struggling seniors, defunded insurance for seniors dependants, and delisted many needed medications for the seniors themselves.
