THE DANGERS OF LIVING IN THE UK (PART 3)

I entered the UK in 1990 and I was skinny. I started working with Macdonalds and I tucked into bugger, sugar, salt, meat, ground rice and fizzy drinks. I became a big daddy after a few years. In 2006, they started inviting me to America to preach and I preached in many states. I started wearing baggy suits which you can see here. People were praising me for my look but I was gradually falling apart.

In 1986, my brother-in-law who was a Colonel in the Nigerian Army introduced me to a company director in Kaduna for employment. The Director adopted me as a son after a few months due to my performance. I travelled to the UK from there in 1990. In 1990, my mother attended a revival in Abuja hosted by the late Prophet Timothy Obadare. At the time, I was a frustrated young man in London. My mother spoke to the prophet about me, I related to the Prophet very well, he took me as a son and ordained me into ministry

This is a concluding part of the message I started early this week. The thrust of the message is to say that some pain can be avoided if we listen now. A few years ago, I spoke to a man of God whom I was asked to speak to by someone who lost his children in a car accident. The telephone call was to thank the man of God for his support for the family during the tragedy.

YOU CAN AVOID FUTURE PAIN (PART 1)

In this article, I will explain that some future pain can be avoided if you are obedient and humble. When you are advised not to do certain things, not to make a certain move or embark on a certain project, it is not to control you but to help you to avoid future sorrow or pain. God will not do anything without showing it to his servant the prophet. The prophet could be your friend or driver.

I am where I am today because of obedience and humility.

YOUR WIFE CAN MAKE YOU - DELE OLAWANLE

Today is my wife’s 51st birthday. I met her when she was 20, celebrated her 21st birthday together and got married when she was 21. By the 8th of June, we would have been married for 30 years. We have three children aged 27, 24 and 20. So ladies, marry early if you can.

She was born in London to her Nigerian parents. Me, I was a thoroughbred Nigerian from a very poor family and raised by a single parent. Our background was different.

YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU SEE IT

Today, I want to encourage you to see beyond your present situation. Let us look at the life of Joseph:

He was 17 years old and amongst his people. He had a dream and another dream. He saw beyond where he was. That changed his mindset. His brothers could not see beyond where they were and they conspired against him but that did not stop him from dreaming.

They decided to kill him and eventually sold him. They thought by doing that, his dream will die. One thing about dreams is that it is like your shadow.

HOW LIFE IS WASTED ABROAD.

I just thought I should write a reminder to let you know that life can be easily wasted when you travel or live abroad. This article is even more necessary because a lot of people are now moving abroad to study or to work. Many have no intention of returning soon and so, I want to help you to maximize your years. I will emphasize immigration at the end.

He who starts life’s journey does not know how it will end. May our journey end well.

YOUR DESTINY AND YOUR HEALTH

As a lawyer, I work a lot with the medical records of my clients. As a pastor, I pray for a lot of people with health issues. 

From talking to many, they became ill as a result of the poor management of their health. As a Christian lawyer, though I do not discriminate, most of my clients are Christians. They believe in God and they believe there are demons. They also believe that they have enemies. Ok, we all do. 

People that I have dealt with have one goal: Success.

HELPERS OF DESTINY ARE EVERYWHERE

So many people will not rise without helpers. So, if they live in London like me, till they die, they will have no contact with any important person. Also, if they are Nigerian like me and they live in Agege in Lagos, no one will invite them to an important party in Lekki or Banana Island till they die. That is how poverty works. It is a form of apartheid.

So, how do you get helpers of destiny? Through humility and a reformed character. I was a very stubborn and proud person but I realized

DON’T BECOME ANOTHER JUDAS

Judas would not have died even though Jesus had to die but, he moved with the enemies of his master. Once you are moving and talking to those who hated your master, you are a step away from falling. No matter how strong you think you are, what you hear can affect how you view those you respected.

I was ordained into ministry by the late sage, Prophet Timothy Obadare. I left his ministry in 2004 to start the Winners Kingdom and he died in 2013, but to date,

YOUR DESTINY IS STRONGER THAN YOUR NAMES.

The late Hubert Ogunde of Nigeria sang that “Though it is dark. …..the enemies cannot change destiny”. My big brother from Ondo Town in Nigeria, King Sunny Ade sang that “My destiny can never be changed at all….my destiny I brought from God”. They spoke prophetically.

Destiny is more powerful than your name. No matter how hard you try, human beings will tamper with your names secretly or openly. They will try to scandalize your name and will go to every length to do that.

LEAVING AN INHERITANCE FOR YOUR CHILDREN: A COMPLICATED MATTER.

A few years back, I had the opportunity to visit a Barrister friend of mine at home. He and his family lived in a sprawling house outside London. I was impressed and so we got talking. Our success is similar but our story is different. He came from a rich family as his late father was a property and business magnate who left a lot of assets behind. YOU AND YOUR INLAWS

By 8 June 2022, I would have been married for 30 years. I have always related to my in-laws well. I am also conscious of the fact that I will become a father-in-law one day. So, I am careful with today. My father in law died a few years ago and my mother-in-law aged 85 is still alive. I have never had an issue with them. Let me explain:

Before I got married, I made up my mind that I will treat my in-laws like my parents.

Don’t take God out of your matter. I am a full time lawyer and as an immigrant, I would have lived in the UK for 32 years by the 8th of February 2022.

In finding my feet, getting married, having children, raising children, building my career and my ministry, I can see the hand of God in my matters. Even at the height of attacks to destroy me and my ministry, God showed up.

This morning I celebrate Muyiwa Olarewaju @officialmuyiwa who overcame great adversity to get to where he is today. I have special regard for people who overcame serious challenges of life to succeed. His father was assasinated and his dear mother died in an accident. That was enough to drown him and his siblings but they did not give up. The clung onto God. I want everyone reading this to face their challenges with fortitude and rely on God. I also want all young men and women who admire Muyiwa to know that the secrets of success is serving

The Benefits of Going to Church (Part 1)

Many people are becoming apathetic when it comes to going to church both in Africa and the Western World since Covid-19 started. It has created future problems for many families and potential families. Let me explain. Marriages do not suddenly break down. It starts little by little before it explodes. Children do not just misbehave or join gangs but it starts little by little. I have found in six decades on the earth that attending church serves a lot of purposes.

SENSITIVE GIVING IS LINKED TO UNUSUAL BREAKTHROUGHS (PART 4)

It is that time of the year that people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, rejoice, and exchange gifts. It is also when people remember the poor and the less privileged. The government’s policy of asking British Citizens and residents to stay in isolation for 10 days when they have been doubly vaccinated and have shown a negative PCR result is a stupid policy. I saw hundreds of innocent residents crying at Nigerian airports. @BorisJohnson and the health Secretary should review the policy quickly. I am a Solicitor who works with many UK-residents on immigration matters, many of them cannot save up £2000 in 3 years. It is that bad.
