My OPINION is that we are a deeply racist country. The only difference between us and South Africa under apartheid is that SA was honest about its institutional racism and we continue to let a whole slate of politicians gaslight the public. We need to overhaul how we police. We need to eliminate the weird legal zone of Qualified Immunity (google it’s history) for the police. We have make serious reparations to those we have harmed and just as SA instituted Truth and Reconciliation to work towards healing, so does the United States.

Woke up to my land cruiser missing. Check security camera, it was Hotwired and driven away at 4am! Go to mission station and file report. I return home and the doorbell rings they found it! Weirdly in my old neighborhood. They’d got it stuck in the mud. Idiots. They tried ...winching it out (using a bush) to no avail. Then they TOOK THE WINCH CONTROLLER WITH THEM. What monster would do THAT? Waiting now for special tow truck and then we’ll head back home again. Time to install some hidden security features. Next project!!

I have some thoughts about @TEDchris interviewing @jack onstage. The reality is that when one white man interviews another, the result is likely to disappoint the POC and marginalized communities affected by the subject matter, simply because that’s what nearly ALWAYS happens. This is even despite the stated intentions of those who might have a genuine desire to unpack the real and controversial issues present in the room. Because what you end up with is two people of incredible privilege trying to discuss something neither really knows about.
