Access from outside China to all economic databases is now totally cut off. No corporate information on Hong Kong or mainland companies, no Customs data, no financial information. I guess the goal is that no one develop an independent view of China. It's been happening since they cut off Customs data access in early 2018. There was the ban on access to corporate financial data. Then they made you register with an identity card to access registration information for companies in Hong Kong.
