So I’m just coming to the end of this and mention is made of Henry Coombe-Tennant, 1/7
Coombe-Tennant had a remarkable life. The son of a prominent Welsh political family, he took a double first in Moral Sciences at Cambridge, joined the Welsh Guards before the war and was captured at Boulogne in 1940 2/7
If we were allowed to go to Mass it’s likely we’d have a couple of verses of Faith of our Fathers today 1/15
“Faith of our Fathers! living still
In spite of dungeon, fire, and sword:
Oh, how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene'er we hear that glorious word.
Faith of our Fathers! Holy Faith!
We will be true to thee till death!”
It’s exhilarating and urges one to heroic virtue. 2/15
