Important Tips when Emailing Professors

Ever sent emails to Profs, tried several times & still no response?

Sometimes, maybe not because of funding per se & your mail might even be concise too.
This thread will give hints on what to do- based on personal experience.

1/n
More often than not, people send generic emails to Profs with the hope that you'll be selected based on your CV & transcript- while this is good, some (especially, senior) Professors will not reply and your email can be trashed on arrival (they receive 100s of such)

Coming to Canada

If you're considering 🇨🇦 for your graduate studies, you should be strategic on how you email Professors.

Another potential reason you don't get response is because you're emailing Professors in High-paying tuition schools (e.g- UofT, McGill & UBC).

1/n
Except they have grants to support you, incl. tuition (or you have a scholarship), they're limited in the no of International Students to accept

In this thread👇, I listed about 10 schools that pays same tuition fees as locals. Please prioritize emailing Professors there.

LIST OF CHEAP (GOOD) SCHOOLS IN CANADA FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Most times Prof wants to accept you, but when they think of the associated cost😒- they give up!

Listed below are some schools you should prioritize emailing Profs there.

(N.B: Cheap is RELATIVE)

1/n
In an avg. Uni in Canada, Int students need ~$ 20 to 30K/year (CAD) for tuition fees. Too high & might even be the total amount Prof wants to give you- Perhaps clarifies why you're not getting a response when you email and not necessarily because of your profile?
