A good time to reflect on the 2001 massacre in Zaki-Biam & Katsina-Ala, Benue State.

You can accuse PBAT of many things, but not a lack of compassion.

Those who truly know him will tell you this is what mostly draws people & endear them to him.

It is essential in leadership. One case that comes to mind is his handling of the killings of military officers in Okuama, Delta State last year, compared to how Obasanjo handled the killings of police officers in Odi in Bayelsa in 1999, and the killings of soldiers in Zaki-Biam & Katsina-Ala in Benue in 2001.

Your point that “IGR is of no relevance if there’s no growth in HDI” may be acceptable on surface value. In layman terms, you’re saying what’s the use of govt revenue if the people can’t feel it?

The bridge is in “spending”.

Taiwo Oyedele touched on it in this video It’s important to clarify before going forward that the Happiness Index (HI) was the independent variable in that video. That is different from the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Human Capital Index (HCI).

May 29. Two years of the Tinubu administration.

A journey marked by bold reforms, difficult choices, visible progress, and undeniable pain.

#Thread Image It has been a mixed bag with many wins but also valid disappointments. Many Nigerians are dissatisfied, and I do not blame them. I have had my moments too.

IS TINUBU TAKING A $21.5 BILLION LOAN?

In this video, it was clearly stated that “President Tinubu is seeking approval for an external borrowing *PLAN* of $21.5 billion plus €65 million grant for *2025 to 2026*.”

What does this really mean?

Let’s break it down

#Thread First, this request is tied to the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF)

What’s that?

It’s a planning tool d govt uses to manage spending over a 3-5 year period. Think of it as a projection document that guides how each yr’s budget is prepared.

First off, the 7th Axial Road is a $651 million project approved by the last administration & funded by China-Exim Bank. Though in Lagos, it serves national assets like the Dangote Refinery, Fertilizer Plant, and key industries in the Free Zone and Lekki Deep Sea Port area. Equating such a project to just one state is quite unfortunate. It’s like tying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to only the South-West, when it’s arguably the most critical link from the nation’s economic capital to the rest of the country.
