Did you know the supermarket was designed by casino architects?!

Same psychological tricks. Same addiction mechanics. Same goal: Keep you inside, spending money on things that harm you 🧵 Supermarket manipulation tactics: Every aisle is a trap. Every shelf is calculated. Nothing is random.

- Entrance: Fresh flowers and produce create "health halo" effect
- Bakery pumps artificial smells to trigger hunger
- Dairy in back corner: Forces you through junk aisles
- Eye level = buy level: Most profitable items at sight line
- Checkout candy: Exploits decision fatigue

You think you're shopping. You're actually being hunted…

I just turned 66. Here are 5 things I wish I knew at 26: 1. FOOD is the most powerful medicine on the planet.

At 26, I believed what I learned in medical school: food doesn't matter that much. Maybe watch your cholesterol, count your calories, and you'll be fine.

Now I've spent 30 years watching food reverse diseases that drugs can't touch.

Food is information. It talks to your DNA, your hormones, your immune system, your brain. A plate of wild salmon, leafy greens, and olive oil is sending completely different signals than a plate of pasta, bread, and seed oils. One tells your body to heal and thrive. The other tells it to store fat, inflame, and break down.

The pharmaceutical industry has spent billions trying to create drugs that do what food does naturally. And they've failed. Because you can't out-medicate a bad diet. But you can out-eat a lot of diseases.

At 26, I thought medicine happened in hospitals. At 66, I know it happens in kitchens.

BREAKING: The world’s largest scientific review confirms that ultra-processed foods damage every single organ in your body…

This is a global health crisis. Scientists examined more than 100 long-term studies, and the conclusion is alarming:
The more ultra-processed food you eat, the higher your risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, depression, and early death.

We’ve replaced real food with a chemical experiment, and we’re paying the price.

My patients often ask me why mindset matters in healing.

After decades in medicine, I can tell you this with certainty: The way you speak to yourself influences your biology. Your thoughts are not just ideas floating in your mind.

They create real biochemical signals that shape immunity, inflammation, and resilience. Your brain and your body are always in conversation.

Researchers at Columbia just proved something remarkable: people who feel optimistic and purposeful have more mitochondria in their prefrontal cortex, and those mitochondria function better.

Your mental state literally reshapes your cellular biology. 🧵 Dr. Martin Picard studied human brains postmortem and measured mitochondrial density against how people felt about their lives before they died.

Optimism, connection, and purpose all were metabolic advantages.

We’re drowning in dopamine.

Why scrolling, snacking, and bingeing leaves you feeling empty... 🧵 Your brain’s reward system wasn’t built for constant stimulation.

The more pleasure you chase, the more your brain adapts, until pain starts to outweigh the reward. Let’s put this into perspective…

Just had a mind-blowing conversation with Autumn Smith, co-founder of Paleo Valley and Wild Pastures.

84,000 Americans die yearly from omega-3 deficiency - same as drug overdoses. But we only call one a "national emergency." 🧵👇 Our food is nutritionally bankrupt. An apple from 1912 vs today:

- 61% less calcium
- Almost NO iron or magnesium

Industrial ag destroyed our soil. We've lost 1/3 of America's topsoil. And 4 companies control 85% of our beef.

Did you know Parkinson's disease is largely preventable?

Two of the world's leading neurologists, @RayDorseyMD and @MichaelOkun, just laid out the evidence, and it changes everything we thought we knew about this disease. 👇 In 1817, Dr. Parkinson described 6 cases of the disease.

By 2017: 6 million people worldwide.
Today: 12 million - 15 years ahead of projections.

Adjusted for age, Parkinson's has increased 60%!

Our genes don't change in 200 years, so it's not genetics. It's our environment.

GEN Z IS GOING SOBER

Brand new data reveals that Gen Z is 20 times more likely to abstain from alcohol than Baby Boomers. 🧵 A new longitudinal study tracking 23,368 Australians across 23 years reveals:

-Gen Z: 17.7x more likely to abstain than Boomers
-Millennials: 9.7x more likely
-Gen X: 3.3x more likely
-Silent Generation: less likely than Boomers

The trend is undeniable: Each generation drinks less than the one before.

20 years ago I wrote The UltraMind Solution arguing we need to fix the body to heal the brain. The medical establishment wasn't ready. Today Stanford just proved me right with results that should terrify Big Pharma. 🧵 Dr. Shebani Sethi's published metabolic psychiatry study achieved what decades of psychiatric drugs couldn't: 100% reversal of metabolic syndrome in 23 patients with serious mental illness + dramatic improvements in their psychiatric symptoms.

A single plant compound is showing results in mental health that psychiatry has never seen before.

Stanford’s Dr. Nolan Williams joined me to explain why ibogaine could be a true game-changer. 🧵 Psychiatry has been stuck with slow, blunt tools for decades... antidepressants, talk therapy, and meds with serious side effects.

Meanwhile, rates of PTSD, depression, addiction, and brain injury–related disability keep climbing.

We need something different.

A major U.S. brain-health trial shows: modest lifestyle changes can reverse cognitive decline, even in your 60s and 70s. 👇 In a landmark two‑year, randomized, multi‑site U.S. trial involving over 2,100 participants aged 60–79, researchers tested whether lifestyle changes could visibly boost cognitive function, and the results are promising.

A groundbreaking 30-year study following over 200,000 people has uncovered a clear link between French fries and type 2 diabetes.

The results were more dramatic than researchers expected….👇 Just 3 Servings Per Week = 20% Higher Risk

-French fries 3x weekly = 20% diabetes risk increase
- Risk climbed with each additional serving
- Effect strongest 12-20 years before diagnosis

My friend @DavidAKesslerMD just submitted a groundbreaking petition to the FDA that could transform American health.

The same doctor who took down Big Tobacco in the 90s is now taking on Big Food - and this could change everything... 👇 Here's what makes this petition so significant:

- Kessler argues these ingredients are the "primary causal determinant" of metabolic harm
- FDA hasn't properly reviewed their safety in 40 years - during which America's obesity crisis emerged
- There's no expert consensus that refined carbs in ultraprocessed foods are safe
- This could trigger a complete remaking of our food supply

Is Big Pharma keeping you sick on purpose?

Former drug rep turned healthcare reformer just exposed how the U.S. system is engineered to profit from your pain, and it goes all the way to the FDA. 👇 Brigham Buhler started at Eli Lilly. He believed he was helping people.

But when he moved from Cialis to antidepressants, he realized the “science” was rigged.

The placebo worked almost as well, but reps were trained to talk doctors out of questioning it.

That was just the beginning...

VICTORY: The HHS, FDA, and USDA are taking action on addressing the health risks of ultra-processed foods! 🎉

This is a major breakthrough.

For years, I’ve been called “radical” for saying that ultra-processed foods are fueling our chronic disease epidemic. Now, for the first time ever, the federal government is creating a uniform definition of what ultra-processed food actually is.

This changes everything.

Here's why this announcement is massive and what it actually means for your health: 🧵 Right now, there's NO official government definition of what makes food "ultra-processed." This has allowed food companies to run wild with confusing labels and marketing tricks.

They slap "all natural" on products loaded with chemicals. They use terms like "made with real fruit" when there's barely any fruit inside. They've blurred the lines so much that parents can't tell what's actually healthy anymore.

The devastating result:
- 70% of packaged foods in America are ultra-processed
Kids get 60% of their calories from these "foods"
- Skyrocketing rates of heart disease, diabetes, cancer & obesity, all linked to UPFs

BREAKING: The CDC just released new data that should alarm every parent in America: 1 in 3 teenagers now has prediabetes. 🧵 This is a national crisis.

The CDC just released new data from its NHANES study, a nationally representative survey using lab testing to track health in the U.S.

What they found is staggering:
- 1 in 3 teens aged 12–17 has prediabetes
- Nearly 1 in 4 has either prediabetes or full-blown type 2 diabetes

BREAKING: Texas just passed a first-of-its-kind law requiring doctors to learn about nutrition.

This could be the shift we need to move medicine from reactive to preventive care. Let me explain why this is so important and long overdue:

I received almost no nutrition training in medical school. And sadly, that’s still the case for most doctors today.

Less than 25% of medical schools meet the minimum recommended hours for nutrition education. And the training that does exist focuses on outdated topics like scurvy, not chronic disease prevention.

There’s a hidden chemical in many of your favorite crispy, crunchy, golden-brown foods, and it’s not on the label... 🧵 It’s called acrylamide.

Acrylamide is not added to food; it's created when certain foods are cooked at high temperatures (above 248°F / 120°C).

The WHO calls it a probable human carcinogen. The EPA classifies it as likely to cause cancer in humans.

It’s also a neurotoxin, hormone disruptor, and may harm reproductive organs.

This Harvard MD/PhD lowered his LDL cholesterol more with Oreo cookies than with a statin.

Yes, you read that right...

But before you panic (or celebrate), here's the science behind one of the most fascinating self-experiments I’ve ever seen… 🧵 Nick Norwitz was on a strict ketogenic diet.

His LDL? Over 500.

So he ran an experiment:
Keep everything the same… except add 100g of carbs a day from one source—Oreos.

In 16 days, his LDL dropped 71%.
The statin only dropped it 32.5%.

Protein is one of the most powerful regulators of your nervous system.

What you eat in the morning directly influences your brain chemistry, your cravings, and your ability to regulate your nervous system throughout the day. 👇 Protein sends your cells a biochemical message: you're safe, you're stable, you're nourished.

Cravings and emotional eating are symptoms of a dysregulated brain-body system—often rooted in disrupted dopamine signaling, unstable blood sugar, and stress overload.
