Mechanical injury Gastric pneumatosis can encompass 2 processes with different etiologies, symptoms, and prognoses:

1. Gastric emphysema

Usually asymptomatic and generally secondary to mechanical causes. It doesn't require surgical treatment and generally responds to conservative management.
