After 10 years (!) as director of our graduate program in clinical psychology @uarizona I've gone back to being a "regular" professor. I had a long list of tips I used to pass along to students for having a successful run in graduate school; here are a few of the favorites... /14. Quantitative skills will advance your career in many, many ways. Think of yourself as double-majoring in clinical psychology and methodology. It’s not enough to know statistics. You should know methodology and measurement issues as well. /2

If I could ever get my act together, I'd write a summary document of concerns/points I bring up in nearly every single peer review... then I'd just start pointing people to this document by number: "Please see points 1, 2, 8, and 17 in the attached file." Lemme note a few here...
You're using WAY TOO MUCH CAUSAL LANGUAGE. Please scrub the ms thoroughly to reduce the causal language.
