A few thoughts on the generational setback #Hezbollah suffered since #Nasrallah Oct 8 decision to escalate against #Israel.
1. #US, #Europe, Arab capitals still want de-escalation and ceasefire for #Israel #Lebanon. Will Nasrallah's successor be able to close ranks, consolidate control, and reliably negotiate? 2. #Hezbollah senior leadership decimated. It is left with untested would-be leaders, some middle management, and lots of angry, emotional foot soldiers. What comes next could be less controlled, more erratic, and escalatory. Weapons proliferation huge risk in this vacuum.
