As @LorentzTovatt of the Swedish green party @miljopartiet said "I most gladly take credit for closed nuclear power", I propose a new unit: the Tovatt-hour.

The Tovatt-hour can help us reason about the climate consequences of closing nuclear power plants ahead of time. Definition

A Tovatt-hour is the GHG emissions estimated to follow from missing out on one gigawatt hour of electricity from nuclear power.

It can be due to a premature closure of a nuclear power plant or delayed start of a new nuclear power plant.

- Utsläpp, Vattenfall: portal.environdec.com/api/api/v1/EPD…
- Elprod, 47% ec.europa.eu/eurostat/stati… Nedan är underlag från IPCC 2014. Figure 7.6 samt Table A.III.2.

Medianvärdet för kärnkraft livscykelutsläpp i denna metastudie av forskning är alltså extremt låga, precis som vindkraftens livscykelutsläpp.

Keeping updated with relevant scientific findings isn't easy. In this thread I'll provide digestible science summaries regarding climate and energy.

@Partiet(NO) @miljopartiet(SWE) @vihreat(FI) @SFpolitik(DK). This is worth our time to consider! 1/ We always need perspective, so lets start with it.

This is the worlds energy consumption.
