I wonder if @kayeadams would be interested in the darker side of @scottishautism, when autistic parents and autistic voices are automatically overridden by non-autistic voices. Even if that autistic parent is themselves an autism specialist education professional. Interesting 🤔1
I will no longer be silent. I will take this public. Autistic people are not automatically wrong, and non-autistic people right. Parents are not automatically less qualified to make expert judgements than professionals. I will speak the truth and I will let everyone know. 2

I had to describe my AuDHD child's school masking to a psychologist yesterday and I came up with a pretty efficient analogy. At school she is beautiful origami. Everybody loves to look at the origami, and marvel at how pleasant it is, but nobody thinks about the complicated...1/4
