Ok let’s tell this story for the last time. I won’t be repeating it.

This is why you don’t see me at TERF events & why to avoid KJK & S4W.

So it’s the end of 2021 & I’m seeking out women only events. Reason in comments. Enter Standing For Women. They had a private, ticketed event planned. Weirdly it was right by my parents place & on a weekend I was there so I booked a ticket. I was charged Ā£536 for the ticket. That was a lot, but I couldn’t get any response from emails which meant I definitely had to go.

The day comes & I straighted up for the occasion, not sure if lesbians were welcome. I arrive around 8.30pm, late. Immediately, I go to the bar & order a ā€œdecoy drinkā€ as I don’t drink but Brits find that weird, so I was thrilled to find the barman was French. I asked, in French, for an elderflower in a wine glass, & hit my first obstacle of the evening when the barman asked me for my number. Awkward.

It struck me that a women’s event should probably have female staff, or at least the men should be prepped not to hit on attendees. Never mind - I wrote down a fake number as the rest of the women at the bar stared daggers at me. If I could have left there & then, I would have.

Next I go to the smoking area to avoid French Barman. So far, all guests were female. I made a friend & got chatting. So far, a 5/10.

Back inside, I get prickly when I notice the DJ Guy leering at me. I have to make damn sure I’m not making that up so I ask the women I’m chatting to check. I wonder why a feminist event would hire a male DJ but my question is quickly answered when a woman tells me that the DJ is KJKs husband. Awkward.

I’d have left there & then if I’d had an answer on the Ā£500 membership charge, so set about getting that answer. I go outside to smoke to avoid Leery DJ Guy & French Barman, but that’s not an option for long as the bouncers tell everyone in the smoking area to go inside as it was speech time.

I said I was fine outside, thanks, I can miss speeches. No, they were mandatory, so I paused at the door before going in to text my partner about Leery DJ Guy/French Barman & she said to get my phone out & film. Clever. Surely, she said, a man will know better at a S4W event than to openly leer at a woman with a camera in her hand? Nope, he kept doing it, only now he was panning me up & down. Awkward.

Quick pause - yes I’m used to male attention but I had specifically sought out a women’s only event, as I was not at ease in male company at the time. I still feel that if men are to attend these events, they should keep their eyes in their damn heads & not hit on attendees. Anyway:

I filmed the speeches, took some pics of the DJ Guy, & sent them to my partner. She said gtfo after you’ve asked about this Ā£500 charge. Urgh, that! I asked around & the first woman I spoke to (Mel?) said she was part of the org, so I explained the membership mix up & she said that was definitely a mistake, ofc KJK isn’t out here scamming people, & to email again. OK?

My mother raised me right so I had to introduce myself to the host & say ā€œthank you for having meā€ before I left. I found KJK. She’s a busy woman so I ā€œelevator pitchā€ why I’m there & start with ā€œI’m a lesbian &ā€¦ā€.
She stops me, interrupts, & replies: ā€œWell I’m not oneā€ with a look. Rude.

I go to leave but my jacket is gone. Huh. Only an hour left so I sit down chatting, my back to DJ Guy. When the lights go up I spot my jacket in his possession. An old trick - he’s trying to force an interaction. I approach, ask for my jacket, & he tries to start a convo. I shut him down with:

ā€œOne day, I hope someone looks at me the way you look at YOUR WIFE.ā€ & turn & leave.

I get straight in the car & go, vowing never to return.

I’m still Ā£500 down, have sent 15+ emails, but no reply. I do not wish to be a member of S4W not attend any more TERF events. Her husband is a creep & she can’t organise an event for women that doesn’t leave us vulnerable to unwanted male attention.

The music was good. *** I was seeking out female only events as I’d recently reported rape/SA to the police. A friend pinned me down in my sleep & forced himself on me.

You’re not allowed to discuss a case during investigation & he & I have mostly mutual friends, so I was seeking out new female only events.

This was not that.

While I don’t begrudge KJK her living, there is no reason for anyone to pay Ā£500 for a lifetime membership to a private events company that has only been running 4 years. That’s ludicrous.

If anyone can assist me in getting a refund sorted that would be lovely. I have been blocked by both KJK & S4W and take that as a clear boundary that I am not to attend any events, anyway, & I respect women’s boundaries.

But £536 for a 2 1/2 hour event where two separate men behaved inappropriately is too much. My limit for that is around £15.

Thanks.

Oh - @StandingforXX @ThePosieParker

Wish me luck today as I appeal my @Tinder ban. Again.

I was banned for asking for an option to ā€œopt outā€ of being shown (& shown to) all these lovely *lesbian women who are definitely not just crossdressing men chancing it online. Image

Here’s a list of trans people who DID stick up for women’s rights & spaces this past decade. Please follow.

They could have sat back & raked in sponsorship-this & award-that but didn’t. They turned to their trans peers & said No, which is very difficult.

They are:🧵

@BuckAngel is a transsexual man who was one of the first people to become known over a decade ago for speaking about being trans.

From the start, Buck supported women & our spaces over trans inclusion, to his own detriment.

He objected to being used as a pawn for TRAs. Hero! Image

Here are the loopholes I’ve found that are created by Trans Inclusion that harm women & children.

I’ll update this thread as I find more.

Let’s me start by saying I remain a trans ally & agree trans people deserve to live openly, without discrimination.

However: 🧵 Trans Inclusion harms lesbians.

Lesbian bars & events must currently admit *males. This attracts men who crossdress & infiltrate our spaces to loom over, leer at, harass & abuse lesbians.

There are more lesbians ā€œoutā€ than ever but zero lesbian bars in the UK & only 5 in the USA. This has disbanded the lesbian community & endangers young sapphic women as we try to meet.

Ask any lesbian - she’ll likely have had an ordeal with a man in a sapphic space who has come in specifically to be creepy little perverts.

Essentially, trans inclusion has meant lesbian bars are now no more than Lesbian Aquariums for men with a fetish for lesbians to use to target us. Organisers face accusations of transphobia if they won’t allow *males in to lesbian/bi women’s events.

Of course men are using the loophole created to include trans women to harass lesbians. We’re scared & these men seek out confrontation. It’s a kink, a fetish, an abuse of the law & an insult to both the trans community & lesbians/bi women to ignore this happens. It does.

Trans women remain male so are not lesbians anyway. Most trans women respect that & wouldn’t come to lesbian only events. Only fetishist, crossdressing men do that. It’s an uncomfortable truth & very easy to look away but I beg of you - don’t. Please listen to lesbians as we fight to retain our right to meet without men.

It has become a given that to attend a lesbian/bi event means we will likely have to deal with crossdressing men who have come specifically to target us. They will film us, try to start confrontations, expose their genitals to us, leer at & loom over us & generally make it impossible for us to ā€œjust ignore themā€. This is our punishment for daring to not being attracted to men.

It’s OK to oppose these men & we must be able to say No to any *male in sapphic spaces. The next generation of lesbians deserve to feel safe & supported & have access to their community. Us elders are fighting not only for us but for all sapphic women. Please help?

No, it is not transphobic for us to not ā€œdateā€ biological males. That’s just lesbianism. Any consequences faced by women for simply being homosexual is homophobia.

The loophole which allows any male to enter lesbian bars or events must be closed. Lesbians are human female homosexuals. We never have nor want penises. Stop supporting a movement which destroys our ability to meet without *males or accused us of hate because of our unchangeable sexuality.

Trans women & lesbians are cool. We’re allies. It’s men causing the problem, here. We must retain sapphic spaces for biological women only.

I keep being told off & declared ā€œoffensiveā€ for saying I don’t care about trans people.

Not what I meant. I mean I don’t care, nor do I care to learn, what makes someone trans. You do you, I won’t to stop or attack you.

What I will fight is the destruction of women’s spaces🧵 Example: Men (the male kindšŸ™„) are pretending to be trans & using women’s spaces/services as a playground for their various fetishes.

It started with lesbian bars, so those all closed bc: BREAKING: lesbians don’t like being perved on & harassed by men.

Then prisons. Men areā€¦šŸ§µ

I’ve just been banned from @Tinder for privately reporting this clearly-a-man, asking for an option for lesbians to opt out of trans women. As they are male.

I made the request privately, I didn’t contact this individual, I have not been hateful.

But I’m banned for life.

Thanks, @Tinder , for reminding us lesbians where we stand.

Which is in the dangerous position of being forced to include crossdressing *males in our dating pool or be banned from your platform.

You clearly believe lesbians have no right to deny males access to our community & bodies.

We’ll remember you said that.Image

Claiming that a man can literally become a woman just by saying so is such an insult to women.

Women have only had equality for a speck of human history & the moment it happens, men say they can just opt in?

No. You can’t. Stop lying. To yourself as well as everyone else. Being trans isn’t an insult. If you wish to identify as a trans woman, have your friends & family call you ā€œherā€ & a female name, wear dresses & make up etc, fine. Have at it.

But you can’t gaslight the public in to pretending we don’t know you’re male.

We’re allowed to say so.

One time when I was running a coffee shop, Maggie Smith came in. She was eating alone & not at all in peace because all the kids in the coffee shop had spotted Professor McGonagall and we’re so excited!

She finished her lunch, tipped very well and asked for her coat. Before she left, she walked in stern silence to the bathroom with her coat in her hand as parents hushed their excited children. When she emerged from the loo, she was wearing her long black coat as a cloak, one of her arms ahead of her with the coat draped over it and, with a flourish, she swished her arm down and her eyes gleamed as she called out, in character -

ā€œLet the Sorting begin!ā€

She sat for a good hour signing napkins and talking to a huddle of kids. It was absolutely adorable.

I’ll never forget that. It was the nicest thing I’ve ever seen. She’s an incredible lady.
Image She had a smoked salmon salad and a sparkling water. And gave every kid in the place possibly the best day of their entire childhood.

Today, I found out the dating agency I have used for 6 years (a ā€œfemme-to-femmeā€ lesbian dating site that do events) hates lesbians.

Let me explain.

So, I’m same sex attracted, right, which means I don’t date dicks. Don’t worry it’s not transphobic, it’s called lesbianism. But🧵 But it is a tough position to be in because trans lesbians also want ā€œa goā€ but I’m afraid they just can’t. My loss. Moving on.

I’ve always thought ā€œFemme To Femmeā€ was a very clever way to gently advertise that this was a female only service. Trans lesbians are brill butā€¦šŸ§µ

@TheFamousArtBR @LucyGouldKPSS @LadyLoveLDN @ThePosieParker @StandingforXX Ok I’ll bite.

The ā€œserviceā€ is a membership. So you can choose monthly or annually or lifetime

After ā€œthe incidentā€ I no longer wish to be a member of S4W so have asked to be removed & refunded. That’s fair. I sent 18+ emails & DMs but no response

I did warn them I’d do this🧵 @TheFamousArtBR @LucyGouldKPSS @LadyLoveLDN @ThePosieParker @StandingforXX I believe that, as I am disabled & largely housebound, & bc many of S4W’s content is available for free (GO THEM!) that I don’t need a membership.

I DO need to pay my carer, though. And my rent & bills.

I’m sure they’d prefer not to force women to be members. So will refund me?

Beware The Handbag Hook-Up

OUAT I went to a gay bar for my birthday & when we found a table, there was a handbag!šŸ‘œ

Hoping to help, we set about trying to reunite it with its owner. We were in luck! Immediately, a trans woman, ā€œDeniseā€, and her friend came over.

It was hers!🧵 ā€œThanks for giving it backā€ said Denise as she sat down, uninvited. ā€œI’ll buy you a drink.ā€šŸ˜Ž

It was a statement, not a question.šŸ˜„šŸ˜³šŸ‘

My friend seemed ok šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøso I quickly brushed off the looming sense of dread as I was locked in convo with Denise, who quickly became pushy😈🄷🧵

Hear me out

Single Sex Spaces - It’s As Simple As A Seatbelt!

Would you not wear a seatbelt just because the chances of being in a car accident are so low?

Would you not-buckle-up-your-kids because it rarely happens & YOU’RE a good driver?

No. Because its best to be safe🧵 You wear a seatbelt because you don’t know who else is on the road and safety first, right?

You never know who is out there texting while driving or drunk behind the wheel, so you take precautions.

Not just for you but for the people you love and wish to protect.

Wow. What a lot of links to things I’ve already read and videos I’ve already watched.

Thanks, I guess?

I repeat - I see nothing transphobic in anything JK Rowling has ever said. You can’t buy, bully or berate me in to saying otherwise.

Never. Ya know. Because ā€œAlwaysā€ is her quote. From Harry Potter.

Damn I had to explain why it was clever which means it’s not. Reminds me of some the defamatory, terminally biased propaganda I’ve read in the last months.

I can confirm, here & now, that I won’t be doing any paid interviews, writing articles of my own or in any way monetising my stance.

I have no book coming out, nothing to sell, no agenda.

Holding my head high with my integrity in tact, I stand firm & proud that my words landed. If you’re used to people only taking a stance in a self serving, tactical way then let me disabuse you of your assumptions.

I have no millions to hide behind, no famous friends to shield me, no pretty house to wait in or Insta-following to build.

Here’s a list of excuses I was given, repeatedly, while researching JK Rowlings ā€œtransphobicā€ quotes -

- It’s just common knowledge
- Go Google ā€œJK Transā€ and you’ll see it
- It’s hard to pick one quote bc it’s everything she says, ever
- ā€œI’m not doing your research for youā€šŸ§µ -Why are you asking me? No I didn’t say she was *quickly deletes TL*
-It’s not what she’s said, but when she said it.And how
-Transphobia is in the eye of the beholder
-ā€œWikipediaā€šŸ™„
-She wrote a book I haven’t read that has a trans villain
-NO I DIDNT READ THE BOOK BUT ITS BAD🧵

Right, I’m done.

3 months ago, I was tasked with writing an article detailing ā€œ20 Transphobic JK Rowling Quotes We’re Done Withā€

After 12 weeks of reading her books, tweets, full essay & finding the context of these ā€œquotesā€, I’ve not found a single truly transphobic message🧵 In the process, I peaked.

JK Rowling is not an ā€œintolerable transphobeā€, she’s a (talented) woman who could have sat back & been beloved forever, but looked around & paid attention as the intersection of trans rights and women’s rights has had understandable growing pains.🧵
