This is some absolute bullshit in response to naming folks who have been targeted for harassment to the person who has been harassing them. For. Years.
Absolute. Bullshit.
Thanks for the doxing, The Journal. Y'all are still cancelled.
Writers, know that there is no safe space available at The Journal. They will name you to your abuser and they will cite legal precedent that honestly sounds pretty slippery to me but what do I know? I'm just a poet.

INCOMING THREAD:
I'm just going to put this out there. Because I want to be very clear. And you can ask me questions, and I will answer some if I feel it's appropriate. BUT TO BE CLEAR:
1. I have emailed a publisher about an abuser they were publishing exactly once.
2. That publisher was @OSUtheJOURNAL. They have since disclosed my name and emails and those of another woman to the abuser. 3. THIS IS NOT OKAY. This is why victims don't come forward. This is why women/nbs don't speak up. This is why whisper networks are WHISPERED.

Hey guys. There are lots and lots of toxic magazines, abusive editors, shady journals, etc etc. Some of us have been actively trying to do something about this. But it is not safe or practical for anyone to keep or share a public "list" of problematic journals.
Not to mention, when you immediately ask "is there a list of places I should know about?" after someone mentions a problematic mag, you are totally asking someone else—usually women/femmes—to do the labor of paying attention to the community and researching publishers for you.
