This is the skull of Thelmo Blas. His death certificate says he died of pneumonia. His wife Aurora says he was shot. I met Aurora in September last year, witnessing the exhumation of Thelmo’s remains. This is their story: When Rodrigo Duterte began campaigning for president in 2016, promising a war on drugs, Aurora Blas feared for her husband’s safety. She joined a church group and prayed for Duterte not to win.
