Federal Minister of Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) proposes legislation that would declare even a single comment, including the marking of a post with a "like" on social networks, a serious reason for deportation. /1 This serious threat on freedom of speech is clearly directed against the Palestine solidarity movement. In a scandalous conflation of Palestine solidarity with "terrorism", Faeser wants to penalize "the disgusting celebration of barbaric terror against Israel on social media”. /2

These decisions come from local administrative courts, which means that other courts, in the same localities or elsewhere in Germany, may rule otherwise. Nevertheless, we are ready to go all the way to the highest court to challenge such outrageous restrictions on our rights!

OUR MOVEMENT’S VICTORIES IN GERMANY!
In a context where extremely repressive 🇩🇪 authorities are violating the most fundamental rights, activists & lawyers of our network recently won two very important court cases, reaffirming the legality of Palestine solidarity slogans! /1 ➡️ The Münster Administrative Court stated that the slogans “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” & “Child murderer Israel” are not illegal and are protected by freedom of expression. So is “Stop the genocide in Gaza”, as the Cologne Administrative Court recalls. /2

🔴VICTORY: At a time when all expressions of support for the Palestinian cause are facing criminalisation at utterly unprecedented levels across Europe, Dutch court rules that "from the river to the sea” is fully legitimate! 1/9elsc.support/news/victory-f… The Dutch public prosecutor refused to prosecute a Dutch activist in the 🇵🇸 solidarity movement in the Netherlands for chanting "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!" during a speech he gave at a demonstration in 2021. 2/9
