The main issue with this piece is that it assumes you need to go to J-school to be a journalist.
I’m a journalist, I know a bunch of other journalists, and I can’t readily think of someone who went to J-school.
Journalism is exactly the kind of thing you can learn on the job! There’s nothing I’ve needed to know over the past two years that I couldn’t learn just by asking my boss.
IMO, the illiberal right is much more obnoxious than the illiberal left when it comes to free speech and the 1A.
I find it refreshing (I guess?) that the illiberal left doesn’t even pretend to support free speech. They're wrong, but generally consistent. (2/

If we tell people that they will be traumatized by everyday upsetting events, they will be. If we romanticize and lionize the traumatized*, people will read every social slight in the worst way possible.

Look I dislike Mike Pence as much as the next lib college student, but the idea that *a former Vice President of the United States* will "threaten the lives" of UVA students is a use of hyperbole that simply kills the useful meaning of words.
