Here in Minnesota, we know that when we organize we win.

Right now, we have to turn out the vote and remind everyone that when we work together we can make progress and improve our lives of everyone. This is the work, and I hope you join us. 🧵

dfl.org/gotv In three weeks from today, the election cycle is over. Our governing future for our state will be set. There is urgency in this fight, because the outcome has high and very real stakes for the people of Minnesota. Not our parties, not those elected - the people.

Never in my life as a nurse did I expect to see care being rationed.

But here we are.

Never in my life did I expect to see rural Republican legislators turn their backs on their communities in a time of crisis.

But here we are. 🧵 Republicans continue to use their positions to threaten to fire a health commissioner, to fight emergency powers, to weaken public health efforts to mitigate COVID.

The one thing they don’t have is a plan to fight the virus or support workers. Minnesotans are paying the price.

It’s March 12th. A year ago the world was coming to a halt as we faced a new reality unprecedented in most of our lifetimes. In that time, we’ve lost too many Minnesotans to COVID-19. nytimes.com/interactive/20… Since joining the Senate, I’ve watched my colleagues across the aisle play repeat on an approach that has been consistent since the start of this public health crisis: Downplay the pandemic, politicize the science, and fight emergency powers.

This is no game Jason Lewis, @LewisForMN. With more than 230,000 American deaths and 9M infected, suggesting this is a game is why you aren’t going to represent Minnesotans in the US Senate. 🧵 Earlier this week, you had emergency surgery in Hibbing. By your own words, you received excellent care by doctors, nurses, and health care workers. That’s our job, our code, our oath.

Last night’s late ruling by the 8th Circuit Court will change the rules for counting ballots. Only ballots received by 8PM on Election Day will be counted, potentially disenfranchising some Minnesotans. (thread) Changing the rules just before the election is one more effort to suppress the vote. I want to connect about what we need to do to ensure that every vote is counted.

In seven weeks, Minnesota's kids, teachers and support staff are due back in school. There is currently no real way to go back to school safely.

A thread. 🧵1/15 We know congregating indoors spreads the virus and returning to school risks the health and lives of educators and support staff, parents and grandparents, and the children themselves. 2/15
