I was raised in the "wine cave DNC donors" socioeconomic bracket so I should probably hold your hand when I tell you this, but the rich donor class is significantly to the left of the average Democratic voter and has only got more so. This was proven in a 2023 study. The authors wrote, "The decoupling of business from the Republican coalition represents one of the most significant changes in American politics in decades." However, they concluded that "the public has not fully internalized the change."

I want to steelman the backlash to trans issues. Here is a thread. Assume the usual caveats that I don't necessarily agree with this 100% but I'm trying to present the most compelling argument. 🧵/1 Image First, I think a starting point is to take the temperature. Where are Americans on trans rights? Well, I think they're pretty liberal on it. 90% of Americans in 2022 were neutral to positive on supporting the legal rights of trans people. /2 Image

I agree and want to add that this sort of online and cruel misogyny is not a motivating factor for older male voters at a level that is electorally meaningful. This is an age specific phenomenon that is driven by bad actors, lack of regulation, and foreign interference. Looking at how demographics moved this cycle does not really paint a picture that shouts misogyny and racism to me with the glaring exception of young men.

Latino men are now more conservative than white women. They moved +33 for Trump. Even support for Trump among white men fell -3. I don't want to see people complaining about white people as a way to vent. Those identity politics got us to this moment. Jews didn't leave. Black people didn't leave. White people continued to distance themselves from Trump. Hispanics embraced him by double digits across gender. This was about the economy and taking Latino support for granted and as baked in as Jews or Black people. It wasn't.

The older I get the more I realize that nobody in office jobs actually works 8 hours a day, they have maybe 2-4 hours of actual productivity. That's why I can really lock in and grind it out for maybe 6 hours and still get way ahead. Think back to the busiest time of your life. Probably high school or college? You still had to take time to chat with friends or walk to class. You had maybe 6 hours of genuine productivity, tops. Nobody is working 8-10 hours solid. They're lying or on the verge of a breakdown.

Public intellectual that has devoted a modicum of tonight to a new subject has discovered something perfidious about the Jews! Headline news! Must read! This is such an embarrassment. They never go to some renowned Jewish museum or intellectual center or even interrogate some Christian Zionists. They always talk to Arabs With A Grudge and are like, avast, something new! And it's just deadass really old Soviet propaganda.

I want to share with you why I hate the media and think the profession of journalism attracts psychopaths. There are a lot of reasons, but this one was too perfect, given my art history background. Here's a 🧵 The year was 2000. Marco Evaristti, a Danish artist from Chile, installed a new art exhibit in Trapholt, a Danish contemporary art museum, that immediately got immense media attention and sparked quite a lot of controversy.

Here's the issue. Entrepreneurs are laypeople. The extreme specialization required for top talent takes days to explain to someone, and talent aren't necessarily the best teachers. So entrepreneurs need to trust their talent, and most are not humble enough to do so. I think this is related to the MBA'ification of top public companies that have obliterated their future prospects for short term gains. People that are generalists do not know that they don't have enough knowledge to predict the future. So they make bad decisions.

I love the branding of calling MAGA weird because it finally rolls back the toxic euphemism treadmill and hyperbolic academic Marxism gobbledygook that the far left imposed on liberals. A 🧵 The euphemism treadmill is when you attempt to impose kinder words to describe a stigmatized thing, like homelessness, and then the new term becomes stigmatized because the concept still carries stigma. It's so wild that I was absolutely 100% correct that the Free Palestine protestors were prolonging the war by signalling support for Hamas, and now that they've moved on to bashing Biden, we might have peace, but there's no one left to tell I told you so. Like I know I was right that they didn't care about Palestine. And now I can't even dunk on them and say I'm right because I was actually so right that they're not paying attention to the war anymore at all, since they never once genuinely cared.

Palestine is all of these issues, but not the way the activists want it to be. Here's a 🧵 Starting at the top, racism. Palestinian advocacy has embraced racism as a trolling tactic. They argue Jews are not a race or alternatively white when it suits their needs. They divide Jews by race as if we Jews recognize such divides or believe they will spare some of us.
