On Tuesday, the Washington Free Beacon posted a story with the headline “Fact Check: Nearly 100 Percent of Political Contributions From Fact Checkers Go to Democrats.” It was amplified on Twitter by Elon Musk. The story is wrong. A thread: The story intermixes two common definitions of a fact-checker. @LeadStoriesCom a member of the IFCN, looked at the FEC data behind the claims in the stories.
