70 people indicated their interest in the Nigerian Oil industry class. It’s going to be a simplified version, so buckle up let’s get into it.

Good morning. 👇🏾👇🏾 First, let’s talk about Oil itself.

What is Oil?

It is basically an organic compound consisting of long chains of carbon and hydrogen molecules joined together in combination with other minor elements. There are essentially two types: Petroleum and Oleum. /2

Okay, let me explain this to a 10yr old.

If you want to wash your face, you don’t put soap and then start looking for water. You first keep a water reserve and then you wash your face, knowing you have enough water. If your landlord pre-sells water to his tenants, it means…1 You have to book water ahead, in order to ensure you have enough water. Now, if you didn’t do that and suddenly you need water to wash your face and landlord doesn’t have reserve, it means you have to buy water from outside, even at a premium….2

Dear @GRVlagos,

I wrote you last week about Education and Mass Transit systems. Today, I am writing you about ENERGY. See, it so happens that I am also a Certified Energy Manager and Chemical Engineer, so please hear me out.

Thread. Energy is a very controversial topic at the moment, due to issues with climate change and the global energy market. Seeing that Nigeria had ratified the climate accord of 2016, in 2017, climate change and energy management is now a critical issue in Lagos state by extension.

Dear @GRVlagos,

Yesterday I wrote you about education, today is Transportation. I have a degree in Railway Engineering, so please hear me out.

Before Railway, let’s talk BRT and Buses.

Thread. The BRT system in Lagos is slowly dying out. This is particularly because the ownership of some of these buses is unknown and where LAMATA is known, it is treated as government property and thus no one owns it nor does anyone take responsibility for it.

I’ve had this idea I want to implement for education, when I get into Public Office. It is simply to create a bond specifically to fund a unified system of education, built specifically for the first 12 years of every child, from 6 - 18.

@GRVlagos This bond is specifically to be used for the purchase and construction of fixed assets, that are critical to the mental, emotional, physical and intellectual development of your adolescents. It comprises structure, educational equipment, social amenities and sporting facilities.

This is really a huugeee problem for business owners in Nigeria at the moment.

Look at the number of taxes and levies you have to pay, per state. Most times you have to pay multiple times as one state doesn't recognize the other.

@AO1379 @toluogunlesi I tagged Ekiti state because most of the tags appear to be from Ekiti.

My truck drivers were stopped and asked to pay another 6k for this or risk damage to the vehicle and a subsequent tow by the task force.

You know that rapid increase in temperature that happens when you turn of the AC or when power is cut (NEPA)? It is because Nigerian homes are built without any consideration for heat shielding or temperature gain. Our houses are just built! No consideration for the actual reason for shelter. Heck some roofs even leak!

Shelter is meant to protect humans from the elements and the use of energy is meant to be optimal: measured not wasteful.

Ajuri, Ajuri, Ajuri.....

Honestly, I am very sad. I don't need to fact check you to see the comedy of errors in your thread. One simple fact is that you failed to consider naira vs dollar denominated debt. Also, you claimed Airports in Lagos, PH, Kano and Abuja... ...but failed to mention who paid for them and by what means they were paid for. You are comparing debt to GDP ratio without looking at per capital income as well, and how it has fared 2015 till now. How about GDP growth rate and the growth of the working populace?

I am a member of COZA, I joined almost 8 years ago now. I am not a worker or a member of any inner circle. But I wholeheartedly subscribed to the mission of the church and many of the programmes and messages.

My attendance of the church was primarily because of my..... .....relationship with God, and secondarily because of the level of excellence that spoke out in the ambience that is constantly presented. I saw church done differently and in a manner that I subconsciously desired. One thing I know is always repeated is the importance...

My aunty was a matron, I wont mention the hospital, but let's just say Ahmadu Bello, I lived with her intermittently during my military days. Many times she was caught in the regular Kaduna violence, but nothing ever happened to her. Their family was well known.... ...as the go to compound for any medical emergency, also as the food bank, for the kids without homes. Some of them were my friends, I learnt most of my little hausa from them. I am an indigene of Kaduna state, born in tudun wada, though my parents are from Kwara.

Fam, is this even real? How can you submit such an analogous fallacy? To further hoodwink your followers into an uninformed bias that only deepens financial illiteracy and despondency? Men, this is discombombulating, I'm totally befuddled as to what you advise clients about. You failed in your premise, to add that 2008/9 witnessed a worldwide economic melt down, one which negatively affected our reserves and thus put a dent on our fx rate. During this period, Oil price tanked and thus affected the general economy.

Dear sir, @atiku I like your ambition. For some reason, I think between you and @bukolasaraki, you both can transform Nigeria if you get to that office. So I'll do a short thread of all my ideas, as regards solving Nigeria's problems.

THREAD. Power.

We have 2 major problems with Power, 1. Generation and 2. Getting the power to users (Transmission and distribution). The disco part is still thorny, but with the carrot and stick approach, they can be pushed to make the right private investments to expand the network.

As per Foreign Reserves, it is the foreign "EXCHANGE" balance of the Naira spent, from $, £ or € (foreign exchange) earned from Exports including exports of financial assets.

THREAD. Nigeria benchmarks $44 per barrel in the budget. But crude sells for $60 per barrel on the market. Nigeria earns $60 on a barrel, takes $44, goes to CBN to exchange for Naira, then splits that $44 between the 3 tiers of government, FG, states and LG in Naira terms.

Okay, tonight we will be talking about the Edible oils industry in Nigeria.

Thread. Edible oils refers to oils that can be ingested. We use oils for a variety of things, but most especially, for heat transfer; from the "fire/heat source", to an object or food item requiring indirect heat.
