As members, we are angered by this tweet and seriously concerned if this is what our leadership advocates
As an academic association we should not be lamenting the losses to the unethical facial recognition industry
We know these facial recognition technologies are used for surveillance and the over policing of communities of colour, trans people, activists, etc. The algorithms are unethical. We know this. So much work has shown it time and again: @morganklauss@safiyanoble etc
