Weekly Thought: Handling 9.01 as a Recruit!

9/01 is a date every recruit has circled on their calendar. You enter high school and see juniors at your school going through the process. Commitment announcements start to pour in...

Let's dive deeper on advice to handle: 👇 1. Everyone's journey is different.

NO FREE FILLS (Micd Up)

We made a big emphasis on this at @fclbestinclass to help our attackman and offensive players understand defensive fills and how to space off ball to hold our defenders accountable.

Let's take a look (thread): In our Coned off 3v3 Drill, Whyett Benn (2024 from Phillips Exeter) does a great job timing the 2 slide. Though the pass was low, he arrives with stick out, ready to collapse (@joekeegs )

How can we slow this 2 slide down?

After taking a look at a big slate of Saturday’s games, Ohio State’s early start vs Hopkins stood out.

They came out firing, and went hard at the middle of the field with their 4 Out set from up top. Let’s take a look! (THREAD) High Wing

Here you see the 4 Out look. Very similar to a high pairs look or umbrella look. Isolating off the high wing, the dodger can go under or over. The adjacent teammate is be ready to mirror / pick. Mitchell makes a nice rollback, gets his hands free and scores.

Attack Riding:

Riding is a 🔑 part to being a complete attackman

A quick thread: 👇 Off a Faceoff Loss:

Hustle to spots and aggressive shifts force defenders to handle pressure and make decisions.

Notice the 3rd attackman shift, leaving the “over” psd open.
