Almost every day, I get requests for assistance with search for study scholarships in Germany. It seems a lot of people are frustrated with this process. I can empathize with the challenge and here are some explanations & tips I hope you'd find helpful.

From my personal experience, I have come up with 2 main reasons why finding study scholarships/funding is particularly hard for Germany (or so it seems). But before I start, it's helpful to clarify the terms.

If you are considering countries for possible relocation, Germany has to be on the list. It has one of the more liberal immigration policies till date and growing international population. Already, 1 in 4 German residents have an immigrant background.

There are 4 main paths to getting residency in Germany at the moment. Unfortunately, Germany does not grant visas for casual work and unskilled/semi-skilled labor. Their liberal immigration policy is still mainly open to skilled professionals.

Most immigration paths to Germany mostly fall under the "Skilled Migration Act" provisions which requires some formal qualification. There's another way though. It's less popular but you could volunteer in Germany as a social worker.

1. Most medical study programs are in German. This makes sense as you are in Germany and most doctors practice here.
