It’s insane that the national Adderall shortage is getting this bad. Not seeing any real sense of urgency to fix it from manufacturers or regulators. I’ve only seen one (1) elected official mention it. I’ve been taking this for 20 years. No stranger to the stigma, even for people who legitimately need it. Still incredible that Congress and the Biden administration don’t seem to care enough to even pretend they’re doing something about it.

The Supreme Court is back in formal session today. In about ten minutes, they'll release orders from the Long Conference and almost certainly a few cert grants. I can't get the list to load, but it looks like there's at least one big one:

We're a few minutes away from new SCOTUS opinions. There are nine argued cases left to be decided this term. The perennial reminder: Opinions drop in 10-minute increments and they'll be announced in order of reverse seniority. (Barrett first, Roberts as chief justice last.)

In his written questions for Ketanji Brown Jackson, Chuck Grassley appears to take issue with her statement that "presidents are not kings" in the McGahn case. judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/… Mike Lee asks Jackson if she thinks Major League Baseball should still have an antitrust exemption. Jackson declines to answer.

Everybody whining about Biden's vaccine mandate also grew up in an era largely free from countless deadly or debilitating diseases because of...vaccine mandates. Washington ordered the entire Continental Army to get smallpox inoculations and pressured his wife to do the same. After Franklin lost his 4-year-old son to smallpox, he became a relentless advocate for inoculation as well.

Good morning on an exceedingly rare SCOTUS Friday! We’re getting one or more opinions today at 10 AM ET. Biggest one left: Brnovich v. DNC, the Voting Rights Act case. Ominous:

There’s an weird meme emerging on Conservative Twitter right now that Elizabeth II is somehow owning the libs by endorsing voter ID this month. It’s wrong but in a weird way. ImageImageImageImage She isn’t actually taking a personal stance on the issue. Each year she gives a speech outlining the UK govt’s priorities for the year. The UK govt writes the speech, not her.

Day four of Trump's second impeachment trial is now underway: c-span.org/video/?508916-… Deleted a previous tweet in this thread that misidentified the first lawyer speaking on Trump's behalf. C-SPAN's caption said it was Bruce Castor; it's Michael Van Der Veen.

Excited for four years of right-wing media draining another “bad” word of meaning through conscious misuse See also: how they described everything anyone else did in 2016 as “election interference,” “collusion,” or a “coup.”

Good thread. I mentioned this yesterday but Gaetz, Fox, et al. blaming Antifa also fits this pattern. Many Klan-friendly in the 1870s would justify its actions while denying they happened. The surreality of it all—men in garish costumes committing grotesque crimes—bolstered white supremacists, sowed doubt and mistrust, and made it harder to rally opposition to their acts. newrepublic.com/article/151937…

There's a lot in here to disagree with, but this strikes me as particularly absurd. nationalreview.com/2019/03/electo… 1876 alone disproves this. Fraud and suppression marred the vote in four states, including three Southern ones rocked by white supremacist violence. Tilden led in the popular vote and the electoral vote thanks to it. Hayes needed all four states to win.

The theme of this year’s Super Bowl commercials seems to be existential despair. The one where the guy gets a dream car during a near-death experience, the one with the dude who’s anxious of everything, the Alexa knockoff bemoaning its lack of a soul...

I can't stress enough how thoroughly disqualifying it was for a sitting federal judge to act Kavanaugh did yesterday. Two obvious points: He has every right to be outraged at death threats towards his family. He also has every right to defend himself and his actions.

The third day of Kavanaugh hearings is underway. Booker is currently telling the committee he'll release some emails that have been marked "committee confidential." (Feel free to mute this thread.) Cornyn just described Booker's announcement as "outrageous" and compared it to releasing classified information.
