Spurgeon's College (as of their effective closing today) will soon become an empty hall, but that hall was spiritually empty and ichabod for quite some time preceding their sudden financial collapse.
In one paragraph you can see their surrender to inclusivity and Pentecostalism.

🧵A thread connecting my thoughts on the Cultural Christianity/CN debate, a 17th century Scottish minister, and my uncle:
Deaths in the family always stir up my imagination.

I'll be doing some critical analysis of this book so that you don't have to. I've had too many friends apostatize/backslide due to direct influence from this book to not directly engage with it.
So, expect to see some critical annotations in your feed for the next few weeks.
Shenvi's tweeting from a year and a half ago was a useful resource but I value firsthand research. I have too much academic integrity (pride?) to let all of my critiques be secondhand.

I started a lengthy research project on the late former @WestminsterTS Prof Jack Miller about three months back. Way too much money/time was spent on books, journal access, etc.
Goal? Put Sonship sanctification in coffin.
The problem? I've come to love Jack Miller.
I never even finished the final draft of my research paper, resulting in losing a letter grade and a half in the class. Why? I was too busy reading about Jack Miller to research Jack Miller.
My bones to pick with Sonship remain but my respect for this saint has grown immensely.

These are the predominantly White Christians @philvischer warned you about.
I try not to engage in frivolous disputes on the tweeter. So why chime in on this one? Why get all cantankerous about this case? Easy: unless a standard is set for intervening when people are misrepresented and maligned, it will continue without accountability.
