[THREAD] P.3 SARS-CoV-2 variant first detected in the Philippines

I've been meaning to tweet about this but I've been staying away from social media for quite sometime now. Since news are catching up, here's a thread to avoid misconceptions on the topic. 1. A preprint describing the initial 33 cases of this variant has already been posted in medRxiv on March 03, 2021. So, ang Executive Director namin sa PGC (@phgenome) ay nag-present ng mga pang-unang resulta tungkol sa mga pag-aaral na ginagawa namin sa SARS-CoV-2, ang virus na nagdadala ng COVID-19. Ito yung link sa webinar: Narito ang ilan sa mga resulta na may kasamang personal na pananaw at paglilinaw.

1. Sa ngayon, merong 13 genomes ng SARS-CoV-2 galing sa bansa (6 mula sa PGC, 7 sa RITM). Lahat ay nakolekta noong Marso at nakadeposito sa isang pampublikong database (GISAID) mula pa noong Abril.
