Here are a few tips to improve your written English for any CSS exam.
1. Start by reading local newspaper articles. Choose one, go through it in detail, find meanings of any tough words you might find.

Part C: Studies
1. The third bitter truth is related to STUDYING. Just passing the CSS exams isn't enough.
You'll have exams in CTP, STP and a final FPOE exam too (a truth which was revealed to me only very recently).
2. And ladies, studying when single is quite different from when you're married and have to (occasionally) check up on your husband too. Haha!
I joke but it's the truth. So time management skills come in amazingly handy.

1. Group preferences should be first and foremost aligned with what you're most PASSIONATE about. Internet is a great resource to find out the responsibilities and duties each group demands of you.
2. Always go for a group which strikes you the most, which is similar to your PERSONALITY TRAITS. For example, I know that I cannot do numbers at all. Maths, or any sort of mathematical calculations are not my forte. Hence PCS, PAAS, CTG, IRS would never be high up on my list.

A thread on CSS subject selection, as this seems to be the foremost critical issue aspirants face.
There are multiple factors involved in subject selection, and it's my humble advice to students to pick and chose the factors which are most suited to them.
FACTOR 1: High-scoring and low-scoring trends.
Due to intense competition especially in Punjab, this factor holds the most weightage for me, personally. Even if you've a background in a particular subject, if it doesn't get consistently good scores, your final result will suffer
