We can talk euphorically & ecstatically about the great wins of our leaders in a first-past-the-post electoral system.
It may not be true that one scoring 31% vote is very popular while opponent with 5% or 10% less is not so.
Innumerable factors come into play, not popularity.
/1 Modi was not a popular mass leader in 2014 and 2019 as some wish to believe it to be.

The power brokers and breakers within Congress and the innumerable power centres within the opposition have divided votes. That ensured their defeat to gift victory to BJP.

Congress with a liberal tag goes about its task with an orderly, cautious and conservative approach.

Most of its present problems generated by this approach. It is out of tune with the current situation and circumstances. Their reaction should be quicker and error-free.
/1 Speaking about the system and its failures, whether internal or external are also part of actions.

Why not open out? The truth is on your side. Even people outside the party are anxiously waiting for the rule of truth and order. It will be a refreshing experience for them.

It is a difficult process, but drastic changes have to happen. The scale of the revival and success of Congress depend on it.

The first option is for Rahul to open up his mind about his plans; what are the drastic changes needed? What are the obstacles presently?

It has to be a declaration of his intention to bring in changes, sharing his vision for Congress.

The best way is to speak out; Truth is on his side. It is his best weapon.

Rahul said many leaders, workers at the grassroots are principled, passionate but are disappointed and remain underutilised due to a lack of opportunities.
They could have become mass leaders with better ground connectivity, in place of ‘opportunistic class conscious' leaders.

The Congress supporters and cadres are perplexed and agitated when the Congress campaign fails despite its strengths and speaking truth.

The RSS, BJP wings exploit weaknesses, emotions, passions and negativity. People fall for all lies, succumb to their covert propaganda.

Most of them are known; some are not apparent but embedded in their characteristics.

They are open and cannot act covertly, surreptitiously like RSS is doing it underground.

The transition of politicians from individual ambition, supremacy, arrogance & authoritarianism is a natural progression. Modi is a typical example.
Still, we ignore the potential dangers of individual leaders in various states mimicking Modi with their arrogance, supremacies.

The ‘Kings’ will determine whether the eclipse stays partial, total or permanent and the extent to which democracy survives for the people to exercise their freedom of expression and votes.

How Modi settled into his style of functioning? Criminals prey on opportunity to steal. Modi, the politician, is no different.

His style was dictated by his political necessities & convenience. His brutal, savage approach, inborn or developed, helped him for over two decades.

Modi, like a turbojet, sucked in, squeezed all before him to create a vacuum and moved forward.

Morals were never his concern.

The political leaders come from various walks of life. They may be from political groups, families, bureaucrats and so on.

A combination of factors leads them to the position of a leader of a party or post.
Some of them presume themselves to be supermen.
It is sheer nonsense.

How do they become different overnight?
Have they come from Moon or Mars?
How their chest suddenly expands or gets filled with 'I know it all; I am the best person to provide solutions for every problem?'

The stealthy underground crew of RSS with their frontline political troops was working on their divisive agenda.

Some opportunists were simultaneously creating their groups.

They colluded with selfish interests.

That resulted in divisions galore on religion, caste, sub-castes, region, language & every possible dimension one can imagine.

They created dynamites with a gram of truth as gunpowder & a bundle of lies.

BJP always searches for chief executives or opportunists on lifetime settlement plans from other parties in states where they could not find suitable jokers within.

BJP is a closely held Private Company owned by the RSS family. It periodically appoints CEOs to widen its base.
/1 The company builds platonic relationships with outsiders. Some clever and cunning associates steal copyrights to build their small islands.

They start mimicking BJP company head Modi with advertisements in the media. They also distribute public funds for their survival.

The frenzied and fancied activities in the political field or the social media by the opposition, its supporters, sympathisers produced nothing in effect when one goes by the results in Bengal.

BJP could retain its vote share despite its total failures and hostile atmosphere.
/1 There is much to learn from defeats and victories which are often overlooked.

The opposition parties and also their active supporters in social media need to undergo a course of brainstorming and self-analysis.

Their potential may be getting wasted by the wrong approach.

The churning of the ‘ocean of milk’ for ‘purification’ of the political system started by Anna ended up in the release of poisonous, opportunistic political elements.

They usurped power exploiting the weaknesses of people and the system, destroying democracy.
/1 Even after 7 years, all sane citizens of this country are still dazed and yet to regain consciousness.
The lies, propaganda of Fascist polluted the atmosphere using the pliable media.
The ignorant and unsophisticated people continue to be so with no way of knowing the truth.

Modi, Shah, BJP, RSS and all their wings, groups use double-edged swords.
If they make risky manoeuvres they will hurt themselves. It perforates the perception among people.
Still, if they are indulging in it, it shows their nervousness, desperation and fear of losing the war.
/1 They are aware that the majority of Indians are not communal. The divisive, communal base they created is not growing anymore. Instead, it is declining overall, more due to Modi’s failures and misadventures.

So their tactics are turning more overtly aggressive and unethical.

The octopus of Modi, Shah, RSS is in a tearing hurry to spread their tentacles and gobble up still ignorant individuals, groups, parties and the country.

The opposition search for a more aggressive version of an authoritarian to neutralise them with the same tricks, tactics.
/1 It is more like creating a vaccine from the virus to fight it out. But before we could complete our research, the strain changes.

The opposition with its limited resources could have opted for a proper response mechanism to prevent and protect themselves from the virus.

Some of the congress leaders are sure that Rahul cannot lead Congress to power.

We are always certain about what others cannot do. We are not so sure or ignore what we cannot do.
Now let us ask some questions.

Who is the alternative to Rahul, Gandhi family to lead Congress?
/1 In many states, they only have a mere presence with diehard cadres and supporters. Congress has to undertake the job to revive, strengthen it all over the country. They cannot do it without organisational reconstruction and resurrection. There is no one visible except Rahul.

India is a democratic country. Are we a mature and fully functional democracy? We are not.
Whether our political parties are democratic. Absolutely not. It is notional to comply with rules.
Congress has a partial internal democracy but more dictated by leaders & their groups.
/1 How internal democracy in Congress was eroded and corroded is a long story but it lost its strength with the dilution of democracy within.

Most of the leaders, media blamed it on the ‘Dynasty’. It is far from true. Gandhis including Indira staunchly believed in democracy.

Every political party is checkmated in a way. No one comes out with flying colours. That also includes Mamata while the left front in Kerala is least affected.

The organisational weakness of Congress shows up again in results.

BJP has a lot to worry about its performance.
/1 They are using or misusing the entire machinery at full throttle. Still, results are not promising but portend a threat to their dominance.

Even if there is a hint of Modi losing his grip, the suppressed, threatened independent institutions would start asserting their rights.

The confusion, fear, threat in the minds of the people about what the future holds is all-pervading. That is the political reality after the recent elections.

The national parties Congress, BJP are worst affected. The victory of regional parties is only a deceptive euphoria.
/1 How much of Mamata’s victory causes jubilation and to what extent it is a pyrrhic victory in abnormal circumstances with main opponents are authoritarian in their own way is difficult to quantify.

But BJP forced such polarisation, hatred among people. Mamata had to respond.

The need of the hour is to unite all those who are opposed to Modi, Shah and RSS to defeat their strategy of dividing people, spreading hatred to impose their ideology.

Most of the opposition parties groups are united by their secular, democratic vein but divided by egos.
/1 What is the purpose of having or forming separate parties or groups when there is no logical reason except for personal domination, the progress of their leaders or groups?

When they are bound by equality and justice where is the justification to impose one’s superiority?

Congress lost its cadres to various group leaders. Their erosion continued to this day despite some wins in between due to other factors.

The organisation was losing its base or connectivity with the base even when they had support and image with the masses.
/1 Congress should be restored back to the masses, a place where it has roots. It should be taken out of the grip of group leaders and group culture.
Democracy is the strength of the Congress party. Where is it now? It was throttled by the group leaders to retain their supremacy.

Where the mass-based movement driven by Congress party and its leaders went on wrong track losing its mass base and more controlled by groups of leaders or power brokers?
/1 It is evident that Congress has always been led by a conglomerate or mixture rather than a fusion of leaders of different ideas from left to right and were guided by democratic culture, principles, philosophies of Congress.

But they were united in addressing public concerns.
