A LETTER TO MY 10 YEAR OLD SELF.
Thread šŸ§µ šŸ§µ
Lester, it's your 10th birthday, you're probably happy that you are growing out of boyhood and into manhood. Congratulations!

There are a few things that I'd like you to know about growing up. Sit on that 3 legged stool & read on. It's is not easy to be anyone in this world. It is even harder to be a man. You can't change a lot about it, but you can do a few things to lessen the load which you must carry. Let it be, YOU MUST CARRY!

And finally, on subjugation.
I don't think subjugation of women, when it's done has anything to do with how society works or should work.

I dare argue that men in societies that subjugate women have failed on their masculine leadership and responsibility. Subjugation is similar to exploitation of the weak and those who can't defend themselves. It's not a trait of masculine men to exploit (read subjugate) the people for whom he's responsible to protect and lead.

It's true that times have changed. However, the principles haven't changed so much.
While it's was hunting in the jungle, it's now hunting in the global market place of capitalism. Secondly, the is a strong correlation between physical and emotional strength. While physical strength may not be much needed as it was then, it has converted into emotional and cognitive strength.

WHAT IS MASCULINITY?
#Thread šŸ§µšŸ§µ

Because there is no shorter way to answer this question, allow me dive in this thread.

I'll draw analogies and put context where need be. Be my guest!
#MenCaveUg #MasculinitySaturday Before social order was established, Darwinism reigned. The strongest survived and the weak ones suffered or perished.

Man hunted and man was hunted. Survival was for the fittest and those that received protection from the fittest.

The Evil That Lives With UsšŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø
A Thread! #SSOT

On 3rd May 2022, a grown man was allegedly caught red-handed dumping in a pit latrine, a body of a 6 year old girl whom he had raped, defiled and killed.

More in this ministerial statement. What I'm going to share in this thread is nothing but my thoughts when I saw news of this terrible incident.

The following are my assumptions:
1. That the man did the act despite ongoing investigations.
2. That he had previous tendencies towards doing such acts as alleged.

THEY SUFFER FROM COGNITIVE DISSONANCE.
Thread (1/2)
The other day, I saw a tweet by @nbstv in which @CHRISBARYOMUNS1 was quoted saying,
"some of you (citizens) are living a better lives than us (leaders), imagine I haven't eaten since..." This got me thinking...so how do these chumps define a "better life"? Or why should the lives of the citizens be pegged to the lives of their leaders? And maybe, should leaders be excused from accountability just because they purportedly portray vulnerability?

EQUALITY or EQUALITY of TREATMENT? But what is EQUALLY of TREATMENT?
#Thread

We are equal, we must be seen and thus treated equally since we're equal. After all we're all human beings, so why not equal then?

Seems to make sense, right?

Well, let's dive right through it.
šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡ Many proponents of equality are too quick to use the fact that we are all human beings to make the case for our equality. But I think being human being isn't an absolute proof of equality.

Equality in it's basic sense entails that everything about us is the same.

7 THINGS YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN TODAYS LEGAL SPECTRUM.

Like many careers, law is another that demands a lot of hard work both at law school and outside law school.
You can hardly move a muscle and you don't meet a chump on the streets with a law degree, why?!

#Thread! #LawTalk The following might be the difference between lawyers who earn and those who struggle.

This is not conclusive, you can also analyse the status quo, make your conclusions and add what you think is right, I will dearly appreciate.
