Kulasekhara Alvar's deep devotion to Lord Sri Ramachandra led him to regularly arrange Ramayan katha in his palace. He would go into ecstasy hearing these pastimes. Ministers and reciters avoided certain sections to prevent the king's overwhelming emotions.

There was one scholar who was reading the Ramayana as per this editorial policy and one day the he had to attend to some business and he asked his son to read the Ramayana, however he forgot to mention this policy.
