The American tragedy of Donald J. Trump is about to come to an end with a popular front that elects the first Black and South Asian woman president of the United States. America is ready, and so is Gaslit Nation, with our historic number of phone banks to ensure we rub MAGA’s nose in their defeat.

Mike Johnson’s deliberate delay led to significant losses for Ukraine on the battlefield, giving Russia the advantage. That was the entire point. There should be no celebrating Johnson for finally being forced to allow a vote, something that should have been done six months ago. Over half of Republicans in the House – 112 members of Congress – voted against Ukraine aid and releasing seized Russian oligarch money for Ukraine, showing their allegiance to Russia, not to U.S. national security and our allies.

Every dictator or wannabe dictator relies on a base of support to stay in power. For Putin, Orban, and Trump, their base is Christian nationalism – claiming God wants white, straight "Christian" men to rule, even if this means stripping all others of their human rights. (Nevermind what Jesus actually taught in the Gospels about loving thy neighbor!) The Republican Party has been taken over by Christian nationalists backed by American and Russian oligarchs, in a death cult commonly known as MAGA.
