Here's how the streets orient in 100 cities around the world (THREAD): @appliednetsci Each city is represented by a polar histogram. Bar direction represents compass bearings of streets in that bin. Length represents relative frequency of streets with those bearings. Here they are again, re-sorted from most-ordered city (Chicago) to most-disordered (Charlotte):
