Modern AU WWX who is an up and coming star nercomancer, but his style is very flashy (he's arrogant, surrounds himself with ghost girls, maintains the air of mystery, wears A CAPE ffs) and he's affiliated with small and irrelevant university of Yiling. Lan Qiren thinks he must be a fraud! And so he sends his nephew LWJ who currently studies journalism (he's late mother was a journalist) to investigate WWX under the guise of writing a profile about him.
