So, a logic lesson this morning, seeing some people, even after all of my posts over the years, are still oblivious to what logic is:
When you claim that beliefs should all be respected, the claim here is: "All beliefs should be respected."
(con't)
So, let's say that again:
"ALL beliefs should be respected."
"ALL" beliefs actually means exactly that, "ALL" beliefs.
*ALL BELIEFS*
That means the entire collection of beliefs to have ever existed---that's what "ALL" means.

Good evening folks,
I hope you are all having a good Saturday evening.
I just wanted to put in a few words about some things that are currently going on around here. There are some accusations being thrown around...
...here this evening, and they are not things that should be just thrown around without serious inquiry and reflection.
If you hadn't noticed, I mostly dedicate my account to spreading awareness about the irrational behaviors of humans...

I'm reading this paper and it's almost like I'm reading about Twitter:
"For centuries, philosophers and scientists who expressed opinions on the issue had their books burned, were forced into exile and were even put to death..."
(Con't)...
"...(as Jon Wolpaw put it, “publish and perish”). Why all the fuss? Essentially two basic structures of society were directly threatened by the free will versus reflex debate: religion and the law."
(Con't)...

When someone doubles down on unsubstantiated beliefs, that is the cue to walk right on out of that discussion/argument -- it's over right then and there.
All you are dealing with is an automated script that will keep repeating itself over and over once you are beyond that point.
There's nothing productive in that, only energy being directly converted to heat with no useful work produced...

"Pfft, they have no idea of what they're talking about; I'm the one who has it all figured out!" --is the main reason that we can't convince most people of anything and most of all and most especially FACTS...
At the real core of every fucking idiot I've ever met and took the time to get to know, this is exactly why they are all impermeable to any and all factual information.
The irony is that these are the people that need facts THE MOST.

When someone gets defensive and starts doubling down on beliefs that have no evidence and erroneous premises, when did that discussion effectively end?
There was no point in engaging in the discussion in the 1st place.
You can't reach the unreachable.

It appears face masks have been effective for quite some time:
...Wu Lien Teh’s work to control the 1910 Manchurian Plague has been acclaimed as “a milestone in the systematic practice of epidemiological principles in disease control”
(con't)
...in which Wu identified the cloth mask as “the principal means of personal protection.” Although Wu designed the cloth mask that was used through most of the world in the early 20th century...
